I would say the #22 Ferrari Daytona is from Sebring 1972, Chinetti Jr. /Grossman - 8th.
All this pics come from Forum Motorlegend topic "le Mans d'hier et d'aujourd'hui". Thank you for "Sportcars" and his friend "François Rivière" Many thanks at them
There's a topic about the Le Mans' Daytonas at Motorlegend http://forums.motorlegend.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28355
The other fellows were doing a great job there for a while so I thought I would sit back and observe. I was also busy working on my wooden tool boxes and hoping to get some additional input from that thread but no such luck. I guess the "Gurus" want to keep what they know a secret? I call this photo" The evolution" since it shows three different versions of six cylinder Ferraris. Have fun figuring the serial numbers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like Sebring 1961 #27 - 246SP - 0790 - Ginther/Von Trips - DNF #22 - 246S - 0784 - Jim Hall/Constantine - 6th #26 - 246S - 0778 - Hugus/Connell - DNF Nathan
#22 has to be 0784 and # 26 0778. read the chassis number for sebring 61 several times as you wrote, but i doubt that. 0778 and 0784 have totally different bodies. today the cars have bodies looking like the chassis numbers i mentioned. please correct me if i´m wrong.
Thank you Michael, I have corrected my post. Of course you are right. Too hasty and put them the wrong way round. Nathan
i think there´s a common error about dinos at sebring 61. even very good sources like barchetta.cc and racingsportscars.com list the numbers the wrong way.
0790 at moroso 2007. never made a pic of 0778 - dont want to post pics that weren´t made by me. Image Unavailable, Please Login
0790 was factory converted several times. in early 1963 the car got the nose as it is now. from 1964-2002 the car was stored and never shown to the public. it had just a mechanical overhaul then and the body was kept untouched.
Hi guys. This is by far my favourite thread to troll; thanks for puttin up all the pics. I do some photo restorations from time to time on lunch-breaks at work - hand painting details through ripped/folded pictures etc. If you guys had access to some very hight DPI scans of photos I'm happy to take on 2-3 pictures to work on at a time. Turnaround time is generally based on what else I have on over lunch and weekends, but usually can get through 2-3 pictures a month. Greyscale is easiest to work on, as you only have to match tone then and not color, and for what I enjoy doing most - is painting in detail that is obviously unable to be done with some photoshop filters - if a tear has gone through the middle of an engine detail or sponsor stickers. If you can supply pics of the car from any other angle (B&W or color) that shows what it should look like, that should be fine. Other stuff I would be interested in doing that usually works okay; * if you have a really good (generally hairpin) shot of a driver and some good reference shots of his face (when concentrating) it's always fun to remove the visor reflection and try draw the face back in. * moving cars on the track closer together, not historically accurate, but sometimes can get a good result from a montage visualising what a much closer race could have been like, and adding more tire-smoke, blur to wings etc.

Gil, Interesting photos at the 1977 Daytona. I can only hope there are more. This month's Forza magazine has an article on the competition Daytonas and the Chinetti's influence to get them made. There are some nice photo also. Gramps

These sort of home photos are what I enjoy seeing. Many of these have not been seen in years and in most cases never been published. Good job and thanks for sharing. David
