I have another thread on the business/investments forum but it may be better here.
This is a 1:100 scale model of St. Mark's Piazza by my grandfather Attilio Savoia. Hand carved in wood in his studio in Rome, it took nine years to complete. He and my father also built a 1:100 scale model of St. Peter's Basilica, finished in 1950. The St. Peter's replica took five years to complete, three of which were spent drawing plans. After completing the models they went on world tours. St. Mark's is now in climate controlled storage in Chicago. The model is available and my family is looking for someone with the resources to properly display and care for this beautiful work of art.

That is the finest piece of artwork I have ever seen, anyone that has the honor of displaying that is truly lucky.

I would start by contacting some Museums to see what it would take to get them displayed. The work is phenomenal. Seing the pics brings back good memories from trip 4 years ago. About where his elbow is, is about where the place was that I had stayed. I hope you find a good home for them to be propperly viewed and appreciated.

Thanks so much for the info, and yes the St. Peter's is in the Italian Cultural Center. It was sold and then donated to De Paul University.

    Gerard-

WOW! I am litetally speechless looking at that model. I won't attempt to heap any more superlatives on it, because nothing I could say can do it justice. I don't think there are sufficient words in the english language...I can only imagine what it must look like in person. I can not begin to fathom the patience and skill it took to build such a thing. I do know that something so beautiful deserves to be seen and appreciated by as many people as possible.

Maybe not: Once people realize what the original looks like, they might loose all respect for the crappy replica he put up in Vegas.
