    Well I think he is interested in the Azurro Cielo because that was 5080's original color and it was the only left-hand-drive SV painted in that shade of blue by the factory.

    Just curious...in the rear view pic of 5080 it looks as if there is some discoloring and perhaps even melting(?) of the lower panel around the exhausts. Is this common with the design?

    Good choice, I can't imagine any shade of white on a Miura.

    Yes. Discoloration from the exhausts and sometimes some paint blistering. Badges of honor on a Miura thats actually driven.

    For what it is worth, I was offered 5080 for $690K before Symbolic had it. Great car, but I couldn't get over the color scheme.

    And I'm glad you couldn't get over the color scheme, with that said a color change is a pretty easy fix for a great car. It may take a bit for duck egg blue to grow on me. Maybe there is a reason there's only one that color!

    Completely agree. The white paint 'disguises' what is a great SV: very late chassis number, factory split sump engine, factory A/C (the ultimate SV spec possible), originally built in a one-off color for LHD SVs, delivered new to an ex-Ferrari 250 GTO racer, well fettled...
    Jon Im glad you see the car's potential and the car is all the better for your ownership.
    Some more Azzuro Cielo below. The light blue paintwork is nicely offset with the dark blue leather interior. There's even a model dedicated to this rare Miura color: subtle, elegant and sublime. Love it.

    I saw this Miura P400 at the auction during the Keels & Wheels car show this weekend. It was a "no sale".

    The currect owner of this car, in Texas, turned down $280K at the auction, he is holding out for $310K...??

    Is this not the same car that sold at R/S last year auction in Monterrey at 170K over the block??

    On youtube.com probably.... It's also featured on the 40th Anniversary video, still in blue/gold wheels, being driven hard on the Vairano racetrack, by yours truly...
