The new coupe was in NYC last night and looking great. Nice to see old friends. Extended warranty will soon be available on Masers, Alfa 8C is coming along. All who have followed the path I suggested are in good shape.

This post slipped through the cracks for me. Thanks for the update on the 8C Jim, its a long ways away, but I can't wait for the day I can see her in my garage.

Jim - thank you for the update... I followed your "path" and appreciate your assistance.... waiting with my neck hairs standing up for this car.

Everytime I look at it I like it more... Have yet to sit in one and the last time I saw it in person was years ago at the Paris autoshow.

Would love any more details or knowledge you have... i.e. probability of getting a car, timing, etc... PM me or post...

    Thanks!!!

    Just saw this post!

As a follower of the right path, I can't wait!

Once again, thanks for lighting the path. . .

What are these "trading" at currently? I read somewhere people were paying ~$500,000 for the spot to buy the car. Is this true?

I recently spoke to them. The car is totally over the top sold out. IMHO they will not be able to make everyone happy. They are only interested, as they should be in real customers who have supported Ferrari, Maserati, and Alfa in the past.

    Good Luck 2 All!

Thanks for update, I think many of us knew that there would be a selection process, so all we can do at this point is wait for that letter in the mail.

OK... I am crushed... I am absolutely in love with this car... followed the path... sent in the paperwork as directed... and the idea of not getting one feels like I got kicked in the... well you know...

This was a car I would keep the rest of my life... maybe be buried in it...

    Ooooophf...

PS. Any advide on how to get chosen or barring that someone with anti-depressants :)

I sent in the paper work directly to Alfa as well - I'm feeling pretty good that I gave it a real solid money offer for what would have been my lucky third Alfa Romeo, so I'll never wonder "what if only ...". It's certainly understandable why everyone's nutz over the 8C - I know I am.

Will now be waiting for the Maserati GranTourismo in a manual transmission...
    Patience is a virtue...dammit

I think we all knew that it wasn't going to be this easy. As far as I'm concerned I'm not out of the running until I hear that others are getting an acceptance letter and I'm not. I appreciate just being in the game with check in hand ready to hand over. Its truly one of those family heirloom type of cars that will always be in our family.

Does anybody have pictures of the 8c Spyder and Ville d'Est?

IMHO the coupe looks much classier. Something wrong with the roadster lines. There was a black one at the Geneva motorshow, it looked so hot I wanted to go and lick it Jeremy Clarkson style. :)

I really really like the lines on that car, I just can't get over that triangle on the front though... :/

For me BOTH versions are almost perfect! A friend of mine has got now a convirmed contract and just ordered the Spider (hoping Alfa will realise this version!). If the Spider will become reality both cars will be a very nice addition to his Alfa 33 Stradale!

    Ciao!

The triangle on the front is a design element that is integral to the marque.

Walter - the Tipo 33 Stradale is probably my favorite car ever. I love the new 8c, but the Tipo is just amazing. Do you have any pictures that you could share?

    Thanks

    Peter,
...voilà, here they come (But this is the Maserati-section, capiche?)!! Driving shot was taken during a photo-shoot on the long straight of the old Hockenheim-GP-circuit for a German car magazine some years ago.

    Ciao!

I think this section of the forum should be renamed to "Maserati & Alfa Romeo" to keep it out of the rest of the cars section, and are sister-companies now anyway correct?

DISAGREE COMPLETLY!!! The only thing both marques have in common is the engine from the new 8C - as this comes from Maserati! all other current cars from Alfa are in a much more lower level and image than Maserati! Alfa has its seperated forum - and we should leave it like that (when Ferrari & Maserati were both connected there was also two seperated forums!)!

    Ciao!

Well it's not like there are many Maserati and Alfa threads anyway... do you think Alfa has more in common with the Lamborghini setion, or Pagani, or the cars section with Corvette threads? I'm just saying realitivly for this site they would go together.

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the styling of the 8C. Sadly I'm in no position to buy one myself... but if I was, I would desperately be trying to get one. I love everything I've seen about this exquisite example of automobiles...

Good luck to everyone that is hoping to get one! Maybe one of you will be kind enough to let me look at it at some point in the future if we're ever in near vicinity?

Alfa is Alfa - and has nuttin`in common with Lamborghini, Zonda or (sic.!!) Corvettes....! Alfa deserves its own section - as Maserati does!! But - please!!!- seperated! I don`t want to talk about the Alfa 156 Station Wagon in a Maserati section!!).

    Ciao!
