Found a Co. here in Sweden selling driers of all kinds. Bought a new one including safety valve 38 bar for $70 (US that is). You keep the original electrical connector but you have to invest in three small o-rings as well. Less than one dollar for all three. That´s not bad is it? Compared to what the local F-dealer wants it is more like stealing candy from children. Anyone more who needs a drier? //B//
I have a new one coming Ben, courtesy of work. New drier, hoses and orings from work. I am very lucky. I will post pics when I get them this week. How much is a genuine Ferrari one cost?
Don´t know in Aussie money but 225 USD according to a friend here. Nice having it all available at work. We market and manufacture profiles in aluminium. Not much you can do with that stuff in your car. //B//
Around AU$250. Cool. Yeah, I am very lucky to be able to get hoses made at work and also score drier too. If I could take my 348 1km underground, I could also get is gased up with R134A for free also! I have a friend that owns a workshop that will gas it up for next to nothing anyways. Should get a/c hoses Wednesday and drier hopefully Thursday.
I already put the drier in its place but i can take a photo if you want to see it. No big deal though since it looks almost the same as the old one. The only difference is the 38 bar valve. The original drier from 1991 has the valve on top.........the new one opposite the el connector. //B//
Sorry........had a photo of both driers already. The left one is the new one. However, took the old connector from the original drier and put it on the new one since there were only + and - on the new one. Wouldn´t take a chance on that, since I do not know much about how it works anyway. //B//
Yours is probably made 2003. Mine was manufactured week 16 1991. Which means it has not been changed even when they switched from R12 to R134. Still, remember the car has been serviced both in Switzerland and Germany before it got into my hands. What does the service manual say? When are we supposed to change drier? Once every third year or something? //B//
A bit of an overkill, I would only replace it when you expose the system to the atmosphere either via a blown hose or an engine out service
