Well had the car for a few weeks now and the time has come to clean the engine.Unfortunately a previous owner had coated it with some sort of clear spray. It took the whole weekend, but the results were worth while. Before and after photo's.PS,does anybody know where i can find the yellow stickers that are on top of ignition.(spark plug leads plug into)

Started off with carefully use of paint stripper on plenum. It was taking forever,so where i work we have industrial power clearer,(water and wash.) I know you should not do this.Wrapped and removed all electrics where possible.Blocked all important holes. With the rest I was careful and went slowly. The real test came when I went to restart. Started first go and no warning lights.Quick Italian tune, all seems fine. Also used this time to spray contacts and connections.

    Sure looks great.

QV London did the same for me when I did the "engine out" service there last autumn.

The radiator shield still looks as if some dust remains to be brushed off.

However, that is not the case. It is clean but looks dusty.

Anyone knows how to get it nice again?

I like the attention to detail (orientation of the hose clamps / alignment etc...) that you did! Nice job.

How did you work on the engine without rubbing against the body of the car?

I used a nice soft cloth around the engine bay.I also removed the rear grille, but I mainly worked from the back.

I picked up one of these topside creepers and cut shorter and exteneded the top out further to keep from hitting the car while doing engine work. May help someone else out. I think I paid like $130 for it. Also is great for working on the engines that are pushed way up there from the back.

Excellent work - it's an awesome task detailing engine bays especially when they are neglected. How did the rocker covers come up so good compared to pre-cleaning? I'm also interested in procuring those yellow stickers atop the ignition - maybe someone in the brotherhood can replicate them.
