Ferrari must be working overtime to supply all these "ringers" to car mags for testing. They are doing pretty good job since they all test very similar results. Must be the biggest conspiracy out there since 9/11...
Interestingly these two tests were conducted on different continents at different times of the year. The Euro car (R&T) had Launch Control accessible by using the LC button, whereas the US test car had to invoke LC via the convoluted paddle/beep/brake/accelerator/release brake method. I guess it cost the C&D guys.1 of a second!
wow, its 4000 pounds and has a 47-53 weight distrubution. that must be one solid and strong car. with a huge engine up front, its amazing how they shifted that much weight to the rear. i am wondering how much fuel is in a cars tank when they run this test, empty, half or full tank ? this car must be a dream to drive on a long open road. thanks for the info / post
Yeah it's really only a matter of time before rosie o'donnel gets a hold of this information and somehow links Enzo Ferrari and the 599 to the 9/11 conspiracy. Did you know steal can't melt either?
this car gets sicker everytime i read about it. i saw a silver one the other day in newport....beautiful it is.
Fast as the 599 already is, imagine a more track focused version. Say 400 pounds lighter; with some exotic materials utilized and the computer programs sharpened up a notch. There is lots of potential left on the table with the 599 program.... CH
If you look under the bonnet you will see how far back the engine is. Even more amazing IMO is the Maserati QP which is 47-53 for a full size luxury sedan. With less horsepower but superior balance it kills an M5 on the Ring.
Those are incredible Weight Distribution, it actually started when Gordon Murray was developing the Chassis on the SLR and he always stated that for a Front Mid Engine Car 47/53 is ideal, of course he did get a bit disenchanted with the SLR due to weight and the MB Engineers getting involved in the project.
