Nathan Beehl 512 Boxer Book

Nathan's book should be ready to ship in May. I'd like to close out our pre-orders on this and get them over to Nathan so he can do his thing.

I've seen some galley proofs and this book looks great, is well researched and written, as is everything I've ever seen of Nathan's.

Deluxe edition ~$190.00 USD. It's priced at 99 GBP, so exchange rates will come into play. Here's Nathan's Description:

There will also be a limited edition (512 only) deluxe version. This will be red leatherette finish with the BB logo stamped in silver and in a slip case, and will also include a free DVD. The DVD will have extra photos that we couldn't get in the book, or perhaps are interesting but not good enough quality, or even turned up too late. There will also be other information such as pdf files of handbooks, certification documents, build sheets, and BB/LM video(s), but we're still working on that. This deluxe version should be £99 (c.$190).

The Deluxe Edition will also include a personal inscription to the buyer from Nathan.

Standard Edition ~ $85 UDS. It's priced at 45 GBP, so again, exchange rates will apply. Nathan's own words, here's what you get:

All being well we are looking at a book the same size and quality as Phil Hill's 'A Champion's View'. So large size - app 13" x 10" (330 x 250); about 200-250pp, about 250 photos. It will contain;

I'm going to close out pre-orders on April 15, after that, you'll have to order from Nathan (or another distributor) and endure the costs of overseas mailing, dealing with exchange rates and all that bother.

If I have already purchased the "deluxe" edition, do I need to "repurchase" because of the publication issues?

 

No need to re-buy, if you purchased on www.fchatstuff.com. We will not charge any cards until the book is here, and shipped. If you'd like me to check the records for your order, I can do that in the AM.

First of all: Can't wait! Very exciting.

Secondly, I'd ordered a few weeks back ALONG WITH several other smaller items on your site. I've recieved none of that, presumably because you were waiting on the book, which I understand. If you'd go ahead and send the smaller things, that'd be great. Looking forward to the book as well.

I need to clarify one point. The deluxe edition will come with a free CD-ROM not DVD. My error (not Daves) as I did not understand the technical difference between a DVD and a CD-ROM (heck, they're both round and silver). So it's a free CD-ROM not a DVD. We're up to more than 100 extra photos, plus all the other good stuff that Dave has mentioned above.

Both editions should be ready by end of May. There's a big Ferrari 60th event at Silverstone 8-10 June, and we have to make that.

Have just delivered the proofs to the designer. They will take about 10 days to action and I will have the FINAL proof at the end of next week. There might be a couple of final tweaks but should be able to press that 'PRINT' button in 2-3 weeks - middle/end of April. Allow for printing and binding etc and 4 weeks later - middle/end of May - we should have the final product.

Final Pricing on the Standard Edition is now in.

All orders placed up to RIGHT NOW (12 noon eastern time April 11, 2007) are at the original price.

Any order place from today on will be at $95.00.

Deluxe edition pricing will remain the same.

Turns out the book is more pages than originally anticipated (20% more) resulting in a price increase.

Have done the final corrections (I hope they're the last!) which should be amended by Monday. We then give the go-ahead and the production process starts. Plate-making, printing and binding - about 4 weeks in total, so should start shipping at end of May. A few people have seen the proofs (including a couple of book-sellers who can be quite cutting if need be) and so far the reactions have been positive and encouraging.
More news as we get it

Nathan very kindly showed me the proofs on Monday and I must say the book is looking superb (even better than I expected). I can't wait for my own copy.

Have now reached the point of no return - printing has started - should be fully printed by end of this week, then folding, stitching, trimming, binding etc etc. takes another 2 weeks or so - then we're ready to ship.
