i have no standards, only a very depleted bank account! jumped, delivery next week. not getting the car you think, not replacing the car you think. i sometimes think i am rather mad... sorry for the suspense but all will be revealed shortly.
A very good read about a owner in US who went about to get his F430 & paid US$260K for a "used car" while the MSRP is US$187K http://www.**********.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14621 He has several other exotics including a Murcie, CarreraGT, Ford GT40 etc.
Sunday morning drive. Anybody can wake up early? Say meet 7.30/8am Go for a quick spin, maybe breakfast & we're home in time for the kids etc. 1)SFchallenge 2)Nera Gallardo
on the money jeff, i am replacing the porker. hope you still treating the 355 well. you are a more faithful "boyfriend" than me for sure...
jon, count me in if i can shake off this cold. saw your old testa being driven on the ecp yesterday evening. recognised the cover over the engine! i must say though that the guy was driving a little too aggressively for my liking given that it was rush hour. but hey, what do i know?
Just took delivery of my new Larini exhaust. Very aggressive sound at start up and at low revs. Cabin resonance has increased. There was zero cabin bloom previously with the stock exhaust. There is noticable amout of additional torque across the entire band up to 8000rpm. The exhaust note increases in pitch (think F1) above 4000rpm. Given the faster throttle respose, I have been playing with the gears to listen to the exhaust note. Very addictive! I have not listen the exhaust outside car but from what people have told me...its loud! Given it is a brand new all steel exhaust... the higher pitch tends to be accentuated. So until the inside starts getting coated with carbon and oil...the true tone of the exhuast cannot be realised.
Sure, can the rest of owners who's interested please fill up the blanks for the Sunday drive? That bugger finally learnt how to drive her properly & I must say I do miss her, she was so smooth throughout, better than the Diablo I dare say for now.
Congrats! must have felt like a new car now. Do you guys know if anybody do ceramic coatings for exhaust headers here in Sg? The Americans do it & costs no more than a few hundred bucks.
It smoothens the internals & has resistance of up to 2000 Fht or Celcuis. Hot air passes a little bit faster & retains heat within till muffler so it won't heat up the engine area=longer engine life+all the rubbers & electronics around it. Some swear by it others say gimmick but in terms of physics it sounds right to me. Some people took measurements & see a few degrees cooler temperature. Cooler=better performance, same as PCs. Anyway it looks bl**dy good especially the chrome ceramic coating, looks like custom steel headers to me. Anyway, on our Gs, we can't see much of our engine even when we pop our cover. Fong should know better. I remember Ferraris in the pre 70s had white ceramic coated headers on the street cars as well. Read it from Forza.
Jeff, If you decide to sell you car one day please let me know. I may want to go back to a good manual car again. lung
