Hey guys...as you know i bought my Stradale back from Motion. I went to Ferrari OC yesterday to see how service was progressing (and to see car again..I cant wait).

Anyways, Motion put a Capistro Level 3 exhaust on it that looks absolutely fabulous!! well, when service tech was walking me around car, he basically told me the Capistro's are JUNK!! Is this possible? He said due to the weight of the exhaust system, and no real support, as soon as exhaust heats up it will sag. Therefore making the tips droop and rub on the outlets in the bumper. Also the clearance of muffler to frame will rub, as exhaust vibrates (he did show me on car where it is already rubbing a bit on the frame) Is this typical? I wondering if it is just a hardcore Ferrari mechanic who is against anything not stock, since he did say the stock exhaust is better. He also said they stopped installing Capistros for that reason (awhile ago.)

Sure do love that exhaust..hopefully problem (if any) can be remedied, i would rather leave it on rather than going back to the stock one.

anyone who has gone thru this, would love your input.

    Thanx Mark

Had the chance to have a Capristro on my 360M, didn't for the exact reason stated above. Also heat maybe an issue too.

Should have a CS by years end and there is no way i would ever have anything other than a stock exhaust as its the sound of perfect IMO

When I was upgrading my exhaust on my 360 in February this year I wanted to go to Capristo but the dealer gave me the same advice and I ended up with a Tubi NGT it looks and sounds great

I've had Capristo #3 on my last two 360's, (approx. 8-10K mi) with no issues. I have heard, (on this board) of quality and customer service issues however, I don't believe reading anything about poor fittment/hardware or sagging due to system weight. Although they may appear heavy due to size they are actually lighter then the standard 360 system and near if not less then the stock CS system.

Same here, The Capristo level 3 is great on my F430 and would not go back to stock, if you got the money adapt, repair, adjust or simply get a new one when needed, even with all that negativity that's out there it's worth the sound and performance for me. It's what you are willing to put up with that will cause you to keep or change, just like in a relationship what are you willing to take and not take.

    Hang in there Mark

I love my Cap 2 but would not buy another one because of the lack of service and support by Capristo. I would buy something else on principle.

I have a Capristo lvl 3 on my CS and it is absolutely PERFECT! There is no issue whatsoever. The 'newer' Capristo systems are really good. The older ones I've heard had some issues with the brackets cracking due to the heat. Then again, there is no exhaust that sounds as good as teh Capristo lvl 3.

Yes. I currently have a problem with the Capristo exhaust that requires customer support. However, even if I did not, my point is still valid. If I know that other people are not getting customer support for a product that I own that is otherwise perfect for me, I still wouldn't buy another one out of principle? Why? The answer is obvious; WHEN I have a problem, I know that I will not be recieving customer support.

Baasha how long is yours on the car ? does it still have the exhaust valve at 4K rpm and what does a Capristo lvl 3 for a CS cost ? Is there any DRONE ? My European CS with Hyperflows and Eurotek/BMCs also sounds fking awesome in a tunnel at 9,000rpm. I do like Joe C's car but that has straight through pipes are u running any cats`?

I had a level 2 for 3 years. First one died internally and had to be replaced. The second rubbed on the frame and had to be reset (install error?). However, from then on, no problems.

Note that even with the problems, I'd still go with the Capristo on a 360 (don't know about the 430). The sound is incredible!!!!!!

considered all the after market exhaust systems for the 360 and went with ansa, have been very happy with results, the sound, looks and quality are first rate, the unit is much smaller and lighter than the stock muffler. it has a deeper tone and does not have the drone that some people object to.

Could you please quantify the statement "rubbed on the frame"? I would like to know if you had the same problem I am currently having. BTW I have a sneaking suspicion that my problem is install related also.

In all fairness there's a bit more back there then the Capristo 3, unless you've made some changes since I saw your CS.

    What's the cost compared to a Tubi on a 360 and 430?

What are the sound differences compared to a Tubi?

    Thanks
