    Hello All,

I am seriously contemplating an Enzo purchase. I have no experience with the Enzo other than sitting in one that Bruce Weiner owns/owed.
So, my questions are: should I or shouldn't I purchase one?
What can I expect as far as drivability? My Ferrari experience thus far is limited to my old 355 spider, my current 360 spider and my F40.
    Dependability?
Low mileage car or go for a 7000-9000 mile car and save a couple hundred grand?
What are your thoughts on the current Enzo market vs. the next few years.

    TIA, Joe

The beuaty of the Enzo is its drivability, you seriously can just drive it to the shops, go about town, no problem. The one and only issue is the racing harness, it can be quite restrictive for viewing as you are already sitting so far back in the tub. This however is the same with all harnesses and as I understand 'normal' seatbelts are avalible for the Enzo, for sure there is a 'gap' where it would be retracted near the base of the seat. As far as value in a few years time, who can really tell, but just look at the prices of the F40 and F50, higher than their original selling price. I would consider higher mileage Enzos the same as lower mileage ones, infact mabye a little more, my thinking is if it was/is driven regularly, any problems would be ironed out, garage queens could have all sorts of issues, and the owner never know. If you are seriously considering an Enzo, you may be best off making an appereance at a repuable dealership with one on offer, and see what you think, they can run costs, maintanince plans and other questions by you.

    Very best of luck
    Michael

This is a good place to ask, and you may want to talk to Aehaas who owns and drives his regularly, he could definatly help you. To you first question

If I could I would buy an enzo, you only live once right? They are awesome awesome cars.
I would buy a higher mile car because if it hasnt already the engine will be totally rebuilt soon (expensive) but most of the little problems have been taken care of on the car, the enzo market probably will only depreciate as the new sucessor is going to come out in a few years they just wont be the "it" car, but I dont really know, there is such a limited supply.

Overall I say go for it and take some pictures for the board :)

Why would I have to expect to re-build the engine soon at 8 or 9K miles?

I have heard, I dont know 100% that an enzo needs an engine rebuild at 10,000 miles is that true ali? or anyone that knows

I think you missed a great chance since ali's neighbor was selling for just over 900k but the dealer is now going for 1.15

    o well

I expect my engine to last 150,000 miles or more. Ferrari engines show very little wear (in my experience) if you take care of them. The Enzo that was injured in Utah had over 30,000 miles on it and was as good as new according to FNA sources.
