Well, that's one hell of an upgrade. Congratulations. That SV seems to be in GREAT shape. I looked at it in detail at Gary's.

BTW, if you want to see mine on a dyno tomorrow morning, PM me for details.

Very, very, nice - it doesn't look like it needs it, but are you going to do a restoration on this one?

Are those standard headlamps? I've never seen any like in your last pic before (though I'm not particularly au fait with Miuras, so it's probably just me...)

Following this thread has left me amazed at how much work goes into a restoration - I'm so naive about these things...

    Jon,
The new Miura looks fantastic. I am curious if you are planning on painting it Verde (the lime green).
Keep up the great Dino documentation. I read it daily.

And that white Miura SV is incredible!!!!

    The new Miura is awesome.

If you restore it, keep the paint burns by the exhaust tips. That just makes it look like the car means business. :)

Are the headlights standard and just in the "up" position? I remember there was something funky about the black Miura headlights.

These headlights are standard just in the up posistion. The car was originally azzuro cielo which is a very light blue kind of the blue of a duck egg. My favorite colors on a Miura are Verde Miura (lime green) and Tahitian Blue. So at some point it will most likely be painted one of those colors.

By the way I did go see Alberto's Miura on the Dyno. Ten seconds at redline will completely blow you away.

OMG what an awesome car! Is this a candidate for a full resto? It looks really clean....

Green looks good and the Tahitian blue looks even better I think but I actually favor the light duck egg blue ...it just looks so cool! That car just pulls that color off... There is a right-hand drive one that is painted that color....

The original light duck egg blue is the coolest. Check out this car:

    Great work, keep it going.
Do you have a sketch with the dimensions of the original heat shield between the engine and passenger bulkhead?
If so could you post it or pm me for my e mail address.
    Thanks

I saw this car at Gary's shop also when I had my Boxer in for a minor service. One of the mechanics started it for me to hear the engine. I sat in it and listened to the engine purr. I built a model of this car in this very color combo as a kid. Very nice car!

Jon, the Orange color as in the brochure I sent has always grabbed me. Perhaps because I looked at it so much. Mike

Congrats again. I like both those color choices.

Can't say enough good things about the Dino either. You must be really proud about how nice it is turning out.

Just took a peek at the Lambo Muira thread. The orange ones look stunning as well. Hard to not bring it back to the original blue color though.... Hmmmm

Hopefully not the one with orange shag carperting. I'm taking a break from the Dino for a week. It was 90 degrees here today at the beach so I spent the day there as well as tomorrow. Then off to Arizona with all my kids for a few days of wakeboarding. Plus the crane comes tomorrow to set all the beams and tower for Dino's new home.

    Orange Shag carpeting?? Yikes

I need my Dino fix. Life just isn't the same without your updates. :)

We are closing escrow on our house in Fallbrook in 2 weeks. I will be dangerously close to the Blue Dino. :) Would love to see it in the flesh sometime.

And dangerously close to my 328 - since I live in Fallbrook!! Yikes!!! Look forward to another F-car in the neighborhood!!!

(several f-cars sporting about town - red 246, yellow 246, red 308, red 328, red Testarossa, yellow 360, etc)

Sorry for the hijack - now, back to our regularly scheduled thread..... which reminds me, I've been meaning to check out the Dino in person as well.... last time I was at OMG, no Jon and no Dino. (was a day late with my audio recording gear and missed a chance at the 430)
