Owner says he's owned it for 20 years, looks like it would need some "re-conditioning" in the engine bay, but it doesn't really look that bad. Still has original wheels/hubcaps/badges that say dino (at least 2 of the badges I think).

No mention of serial number, but it sure looks like a series 1, wonder what the serial number is.

Of course, the standard disclaimer, I don't know the seller, just posting as FYI.

Interesting! Same color combo as mine. Motor looks as if it has been sitting a while, but who knows with those pics. I'd love to know the VIN#...
Looks like its certainly worth checking out. :)

If I was serious about getting a GT4, I would definitely look into this one. But, honestly, I'm all talk at this point about getting a GT4. I have no more garage space, two needy Fcars taking up the space I have, a home addition under way that takes up a lot of my time (building it myself) and I'm seriously considering that glass 308 that needs body work (though I'm thinking of it less and less with each passing day, so I'm guessing that I'm not going to follow through on it either, even though I'll kick myself in a couple years.....)

For me to get a GT4, I'll need to find a car that is priced too low to pass up and I doubt this one in NH is the one. It just looks too nice to be a steal. I love all these old Ferraris but I honestly can barely drive the ones I have enough. The last thing I need is another!! (Need and want are different..)

    Besides, I *need* a 348! ;)

    Rather interesting car.
'tis indeed a series 1, yet it has the updates. Notice the Dino badge is gone and body filler has been used to cover the detent.

Don't those cromodoras look lovely. Missing one of the Dino badges on the hubcap. That badge is NLA. The one pictured is a repro badge and not the original.

Looks like it has been painted, which isn't a bad thing. See the overspray on the leading edge under the front hood?

Wonder how long its been since the belts have been changed.

A quick slight off the topic question. In the pic of under the front bonnet, there is a cover which covers the brake fluid reservoirs.Does anyone else have this?Mine was missing so I made one up but would like to know if any brothers out there could post a pic of their's so I can see what it looks like up close. Thanks in advance
PS:That engine bay could do with a desperate cleanup!

<laughing> Oh yes I do; just ask my wife.

Got an email from the lister of the above GT4. He claims it is #10770 which doesn't appear anywhere. Odd.

    UH OH!

    Somethings wrong here.
I asked about the timimg belte and here is the reply I got:

"The timing belts and tensioners have not been changed to my
    knowledge. Thank you."

We've owned this car for over 20 years according to the ad and NEVER changed the belts?

    something smells.

Nah, this goes into that arguement that occurs with regularity here, "do belts really need to be changed every 3-5 years".

If I remember correctly, someone mentioned having a 308 series that had the original belts for like 16 years.

Now, that doesn't mean I wouldn't change the belts, but I think its been done before, driving for "a lifetime" and not changing the belts.

Do a search, I think the thread was either in the Technical section, 308 section or Genearl section.

Yeah, not to mentioned that I'd be afraid that the thing would "blow up" on ya if you dared to test drive it.

If someone does buy it, it HAS to be trailered to the nearest mechanic.

I'd be afraid to breathe on the engine for fear of the belts breaking or a gas hose breaking............

This could be an extremely literal-minded owner. Since he's put 21,000 miles on it in the 20 years he's owned it, he may think it's not yet due for the "30,000 mile service". Not exactly the standard Ferrari-owner philosophy of maintaining it like an airplane, and fixing what's broken before it breaks, is it? At the same time, it could well be worth paying the couple hundred $$ for a PPI, and negotiating accordingly.

    Man, I dig those GT4's.

Oh my I didn't even consider that. If we haven't done timing belts in 20 years you can bet we haven't done fuel hoses.
Can you imagine what they must look like?
It would be like driving a bomb.

I sent him an e-mail and asked what he was looking for and he said "around $20K" which is to say that this car can be had cheap, but we all know now that it's going to take some immediate action before it can be driven (i.e. a major plus fuel lines, at a minimum).

Still might be a decent price on a pretty nice looking GT4.

Couple of guys have PM'd me and asked how I knew the centercaps emblems were reproductions so I thought I'd answer in public.

The original Dino centercap emblems were a clear plastic with the yellow ink applied to the back so it showed through. There would have been a silver outline around the word Dino and the yellow ink went all the way to the edge of the emblem.
The reproductions are made from metal. If you look close at the centercap pictured on this car you'll see that there is a silver ring around the edge of the emblem. This is the dead give-away.

The originals are NLA and highly sought after by the 206/246 Dino owners. In 5 years you'll all be trying to get them also. The last of these NOS originals were bought by a fellow fchatter a couple of years ago so you can blame him for there not being anymore.

I've seen a set of originals go for close to a grand.

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for someone to have a run of perfect reproductions made!

I must be lucky that i have the original Dino center caps on my 75 GT4, one fell off last year and i found it and glued it back on, When i was shopping for a old Ferrari , it was kind of a rule that you buy a Ferrari and you do a belt service so you know its done,So if this car runs and drives good ( if he will drive you around town for a little while ) it sounds like a decent deal.Although i think its much harder to sell a GT4 then any other Ferrari,The back seat really comes in handy and nobody will ask you if its a kit car,I would sure agree the fuel hoses must be shot! I think only people that really are into these Ferraris know what a GT4 is,The majority of the world has no idea,9 out of 10 times somebody will ask if my car is a Lambo, and i tell them its a GT4 Dino , and they say Whats That? and i point to the badge on the front.Sometimes its fun being the minority GT4 s are Great

ANYONE NOTICE THE MILES????!!!!????? 21,000 to 49,000 --- IN 2 YEARS someone must have loved driving the car.

I almost hate to post it, cause I'd love to be in a position to buy it, but I'm not... :(

I think this is a GREAT price on this car, personally.
