    After finishing 0846, it was time to fresh up my model of 0856.

    I took it apart completely to look at the parts and where some touch ups were needed. I changed the nose because the old one was a bit too damaged. I painted the insides of the bodywork with Humbrol polished aluminium metal cote.

    I painted the seats matt red and added some grey seatbelts. I fitted a nicer gearlever with a new H-pattern underneath. I touched up the inner doors and washed the windows and windscreen.

    I painted the wheels with a proper gold finish. I made the steering wheel a much nicer one to look at and I freshed up the engine bay and the engine.

    I made some decals in Adobe CS2 so a proper BOAC sign wasn't much of a problem. I put race numberplates on the car with the funny "7" on them. The only thing I have to add is the 'PROVA MO - 36' sign on the back but I couldn't wait to show you the result of my work.

    Also pictured is my recently finished 0846. It's a lovely pair of 1:18 racing machinery in my point of view.

    Next project is 0848. I'll keep you informed!

    Wonderful stuff.

    If would be absolutely really cool if you could lower the engine cover shut line to being in line with the door/sill line on #0846 , and then twist the chassis ever so slightly, and then fix with packers :D

    Ouch! That's a hell of a job. However, I did manage to recreate a messy welding in 1:18 on one of the chassis tubes deep inside the car...

    After I completed 330 P4 0856 in Lawrence Stroll 2005 outfit I took up work on 330 P3/4 0848 Scuderia Filipinetti. Since there seems no up-to-date picture of the car I had to let my imagination do the job.

    I decided to paint the car red with a white stripe and the entire white roof. The wheels were painted gold with polished aluminium rims. Good Year tires where fitted. The car has red seats and a aluminium steering wheel with black leather rim. In the nose section a piece of fine gauze was fitted. There are no racing plates on the car but on the left and right door are the silver Bardinon Collection logos. Monsieur Bardinon didn't like racing numbers on his cars so that's the link. Underneath the window of the tail section the bodywork is painted half black matte half red.

    This is how I think 0848 looks at its best. Do you have a recent picture of the car owned by Giorgio Perfetti, please post it!

    Hi,

    That's a beautiful model of 330 P4 0856. This version is the winner of 1000KM of Monza on the 25th of april 1967 with Amon and Bandini driving.

    Here you see work on my model of 0844. I decided to recreate the car in Ferrari Classic Challenge trim, entered by Harry Leventis. Thus, the car receives a safety cage, interior gets stripped, model gets those strange raised mirrors.

    Not to long ago I would have said the Mercedes W196 Streamliner was the most beautiful car ever made but I do think the 330 P4 has surpassed it in my mind's eye.

    I love the detail work you're doing on your models. I've got a 1/18 330 P4 and this thread has convinced me to do a little detailing of my own to it. I'm sure I'll be contacting you for advice.

    Also, even though there is probably a better thread for this I figure since we're on the topic of 330 P4s I'd ask. Does anyone have any idea what the value of 0856 is? I told a friend of mine that it was the most valuable privately owned car on Earth and he argued that Ralph's 57SC Atlantic was. Anyone have any insight?

    Second, a thread highjack of sorts.

    Not that I dispute it but why would a 250 GTO go for more than a 330P? Aren't there fewer 330P and don't they have at least as strong a racing pedegree as the GTO, or not?

    Why the market is what it is, is often a puzzlement but it is what it is...

    Part of it is that a GTO is a bit more usable than a P 4 although IMHO a 412P is quite usable on the road.

    Personally I agree with you but the market doesn't. A Big History 250 GTO today would trade above 0856 but in the future? Who knows.
