Sadly due to my bizarre living situation, my daily driver has to be left outside. I have an M3 and it's not a problem.

But Italian interiors are uhhhhhh..famous for beauty but not longevity.

The salesman showed me only to places that could be a problem that he knows of long term. One is the wood steering wheel if so equipped. But I wonder about the leather, dash, etc.

Any opinions here on sturdiness here based on experience?

from a sun standpoint, you could get a front windsheild visor that you fold out to block the rays, then leave your window down a 1/2 inch. Those things help alot and would probably eliminate any sun damage to the interior.

I would suggest you get a light color if your going to leave it outside. I park my black colored coupe under a carport. The maserati paint is by far the softest paint Ive ever dealt with. I have always owned black cars and follow the precautious washing routine: two buckets, mitten, microfiber, gentle drying etc yet it still quickly develops spiderwebbing and hairline scrathes.

Oh who cares. It's life. Don't worry about things like that. ;)

A car cover would solve your problems as far as sunlight goes. If you don't want to deal with that a little more tint on the windows and one of those big windshield sun things would help out.

I know a man who kept his F50 parked outside. It's still a beauty. . . although those cars don't really have interiors to worry about :)

I would buy a less expensive car until you have a secure garage available. Birds, bee crap (really), acid rain, hail, UV rays, vandalism... plan on getting rid of the car in a few years.

It will be tired looking, especially compared to the other 99.9% of Maseratis that are stored in clean garages year round.

Ive tried car covers on other cars I own that are out in the elements.
Basically, they dont work. You cant cover a car unless its clean, so
if you drive it a couple of days, that 2nd day the cover is going to
make the car, especially black cars, look like you havent washed it
in 2 weeks. If you wash the car, then cover it and dont drive it
for several days, a car cover may help.

Once i parked my car on the street and covered it. Within 2 hours
    the cover was gone.

I think maybe an awning off your garage would work or if you live
in a condo, rent a space. I have a rented space at my gf's condo.
    makes life much easier.

No surprise here. The cover could be worth several hundred $.

An unattended, covered car is an invitation for vandalism (must be something special under there).

Maseratis already suffer from crappy resale value. You won't be doing yourself any favors by leaving it out all the time.

Buy their heavy duty outside cover in gray and use a cable lock. http://www.covercraft.com/
Get a high quality car duster. Before you put it under the cover dust it off. If you have a heavier dust spot, use a high quality detail spray and a nice clean microfiber towel. I did this with my black Vette for years when I had to park it outside at work.

Well....I have outdoor parked my 1999 Carrera with a super lightweightweight Covercraft Weathershield for years and it's in the mechanics now for service w/ 39k miles. He commented on how good it looks.

Mut the Maserati will be outside and get washed by hand once a week. Covering it is not an option cause you can't put a cover on a dirty or dusty car. And like I said....It would be my daily driver.

Little outside trim stuff can get replaced cheap enough. But a shriveled leather dash board amd all the inside trim?

If you have a windshield guard, the interior should be fine. hopefully your car will be parking in a secure area though.

Resale value compared to what? Compared to a ferrari its crappy, compared to a mercedes, bmw, etc its the same depreciation.

for what its worth, doesn't Maserati and Ferrari have the most advanced paint/rust factory in the world.
