In 2008 there will be no traction control. Whenever they go onboard with a driver, the TC icon is highlighted a lot, and I was wondering how the times, or speed in general, will be affected without it. I doubt it will save that much weight to be significant, but I just don't think the cars need to be getting slower again next year. They even put in the "chicken" as Alain Prost calls it, and I decided to as well, before New Holland. That was a great corner. Next thing we know Monza will have a chicane in each straight because they might go too fast...

If anything I think the TC ban will make the races more exciting and more dangerous which can be a good thing. Hopefully it will allow for more passing with drivers locking up and every once in a while going over the edge when they're driving on the edge. Even if the lap times go down a bit I think the action will be much more exciting.

You say that, but people in F1 speculate that it woln't even make a difference. Mark Webber and a couple of technical people have been quoted saying roughly the same thing, that engineers will come up with something to make up for it.

I can't think of anything that can really make up for traction control, unless it's going to be something within in the gray area of the rules like the flexi-floors. But at the same time, that's what engineers are paid to do. Take the rules to the limit and improve the car.
