Bernie is not too keen on HD he prefers widescreen as you can take in more households. HD has limited channels that carry the programming.

Since Speed isn't in HD, you're right we're not going to get it.

In Canada, One of our sports networks broadcasts regular definition F1 races on it's Hi-Def alternate station.

that's so stupid...if that was true than Speed would have a letterbox for their broadcast and not crop the feed...neither would TSN (SD) (which didn't even show the race live...because they wanted to show some Russia/Sweden game, lol)...so apparently the biggest television Market North America, is getting screwed...(lets not even mention how many commercials Speed ran this race...) maybe he should focus on having a decent channel provide F1 broadcast in the US before he says 'oh but not enough ppl get the feed...', no ****, perhaps if it was available to us, we'd get it...

Interestingly enough, Speed is one of the stations expected to be broadcasting in HD on DirecTV by the end of the year.

DirecTV is about to roll out something rediculous like 100 HD channels in one shot. At least that's why they put up a new dish on my house.
