As you know there is very little F1 coverage in our local Atlanta rag...in todays paper there was one short paragraph about the Spanish GP. The AJC sports editor said he would include more coverage if more people showed some interest. So, let's all e-mail Ronnie Ramos at [email protected] and ask that the AJC include more F1 coverage on a regular basis. After all, Atlanta claims to be an international city and F1 is the #2 sport in the world...only beaten out by by soccer.

I suppose it's just a different culture. In Italy, during a race week, I enjoy picking up the newpaper on Saturday and Sunday morning, going to the local Bar (more like cafes in Italy), sitting with a coffee and reading the journalists' opinions and analysis of the upcoming race.

They are always very opinionated, but backed up by some degree of reasoning in most cases. The journalists are knowledgeable about the sport and you can usually find others sitting around reading the same articles, who are willing to discuss it with you.

Here, we sit in front of our computers, by ourselves usually, surf the F1 websites, and share commentary through chat sites like this. Frankly, I don't think there is anyone at the AJC who would know an Eccelstone from a Cobblestone.

You don't have to go to Italy, or speak Italian, to enjoy some decent newspare reporting. Because of Hamilton - and Button to a lesser extent, the British Press is full of F1 stuff. You can get the Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, etc. in Atlanta I'm sure.

I'm happy to leave the AJC - and the Birmingham News, to report all the NASCAR they want - I don't subscribe to or read the local paper in any case. It would seem to me that the AJC should be the one to push some international perspective at the local populace, not the other way round.

A whole lot of football, baseball and NASCAR...but, only a couple of sentences the Monday after an F1 race...it doesn't even do any more for the USGP. I e-mailed the editor and he said the AJC would cover F1 more if enough people were interested. So, lets all e-mail him and let him know we want more F1 coverage...

I honestly never even knew the AJC was aware there was other racing besides NASCAR. Besides, there is nothing worse than someone writing about F1, when they have no CLUE about F1.
