I got this invite today: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Kick off the spring DRIVING SEASON by joining us on a fun, no-gimmicks rally through Northern Illinois into Wisconsin. We will meet Saturday morning at 10:00 AM at Ambrosia Patisserie in Barrington, IL, and then twist our way on the scenic back roads into Wisconsin. We've planned a special three-course lunch at Kirsch's Restaurant at the French Country Inn. Chef John Bogan will prepare his famous Roasted Kona Crusted Chateau Briand and Herb Crusted Whitefish with Jumbo Shrimp & Crab Claw Garni. Dessert is a special Boul de Neige (Chocolate pate covered with chantilly cream and strawberry puree). RESERVATION DEADLINE is May 3rd. I went last year and it was great fun and a fantastic lunch. Good turnout and not just Ferraris. Unfortunately, I'll be in sunny CA.
My wife and I are signed up and are looking foward to it. I've known Kirsch of Kirsh's for several years, we go to Mardi Gras together with a mutual friend.
What a great day! This rally had at least 30 cars show up. I wasn't sure I would make the event with the Boxer. I had the car at Continental this week to have the injection set up. Tod worked on it and had it ready for pickup by Friday evening. Hugh & Pete did a nice job of organizing the event. Thanks to Pete and Hugh for putting this together, everbody I spoke to, had a great time.... In spite of me speaking to them Except for the farmer with tractor/disc-harrow, who dove for the side of the road, when he saw our group, exhuberantly coming around the corner at him. Regards, Bill
Hi, The day was great fun. Very few laws were broken, but I almost hit a turkey crossing the road which would not have been pretty - for the bird or the car. Thanks to Peter and Hugh for putting on the event and ordering the spectacular weather.
Best exercise my Ferrari has gotten in ten (10) years for such a short drive. Thanks everyone for making it such a great event!! Had 28 miles on the tank of gas when I left home in the morning. Probably 2 gallons left in the tank with the gauge reading empty and the "low fuel" light on when I drove into the my driveway. Neil sure has a fast '78 308. He was really into the curves too, and the acceleration in the lower gears was more than I ever expected. A pleasure being behind him with Butch and Mary Lee in the lead with their Testarossa. Good pics! We've never had a chance to meet up with co-Ferrari owners. It would be really great to meet some of you guys.. hopefully soon! When's the next meet?
Next Saturday at the VA hospital. Look for the thread on it. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136097 We owe it to the guys and girls who have served our country. If you don't attend any other events, or all other events, you must still attend this one!!!
