ALONSO: "I Fear Ferrari More Than Hamilton"

Interview after Spanish GP. He fears Massa and Raikkonen more than his teammate.

Hmmmm..............does anyone believe this?

 

In the long run (perhaps more than just this year) I fear Hamilton more than Alonso.

 

No.

It's more of the mind game thing.

 

What I really enjoy about Hamilton is that he seems far more mature than the typical rookie. I think he is benefitting from being a part of the McLaren program for so many years, having seen first-hand the true inner workings of major league F1 chicanery.

 

so far Hamilton seems like a class act. I have to admitt that I relished the fact that he was beating FA on Sunday. Hamilton has totally taken the wind out of FA 's sails. After his big move to McMB, we thought that would be the big story. He seems unjaded by it all. I can guarentee that FA is losing sleep at night.

 

It's just more of Alonso's hot air. I'm impressed with Hamilton's maturity and the fact that he's leading the WDC, only wish that he would let people talk to him before the race.

 

the best part of Hamilton is, he keeps his mouth shut and gets the job done. no rubbish comments about whose doing dangerous driving whatsoever. that kid is just focused on his job.

I tend to think he is a benefactor of a superior program...Ferrari has its hands full this year. Where do they keep coming up with these innovative ideas to keep the front end on the pavement?

 

He was probably told to say this by his PR peeps. It keeps people tuned in

 

I loved watching alonso's reaction during the post race interview with Hamilton. He looked like he was about to have another hissy fit.

 

i dunno guys i hate alonso with a passion but man he can drive. I still think he's arguably the best driver on the grid besides raikonnen. a lesser driver would have crumbled with the battered car he had during the last GP (did you see how torn up the bottom of his mclaren was?).

Anyhoo I think Hamilton is a great driver and bound to be a champion, but not anytime before raikonnen or even massa.

 

He should fear Ferrari more. They've won 3 of 4 races and have all 4 pole positions. It's all about momentum and it's definitely going in Ferrari's favor a lot right now. He had P2 going into turn one, but got greedy and it cost him the race. Had he remained in P2 after turn one, he would've finished that way. Sadly, this past weekend's race only lasted up to turn one. I know people usually joke about F1 being a race to turn 1, but it really was this time other than DNFs.

 

Would anyone here like to give up a Ferrari victory to see Lewis get his first win?

 

if both Ferrari failed to finish at a particular race, he's the one i'd be hoping for the top step on the podium . in fact, i won't mind Rosberg or Nick winning as well.

 

If both Ferrari's were out of contention for the win, there's plenty of drivers that I'd love to see take a victory, one of those is Hamilton, and none of them are Alonso.

It would be funny if Massa takes the WDC and Hamilton finishes ahead of Alonso(bobblehead). They would have to keep Alonso in a padded cell with no ligatures or sharp implements available for at least 3 months.

 

I would have to agree with that. It will be fun to see this kid win his first for sure. Even if he is in a mclaren.

It's all about the car. Not the driver. I'm a Ferrari fan. The last few years Kimi was high on the top of my most hated drivers list. Now he's in a red car I'm going for him (although I do like Masa more). I would never give up a Ferrari victory for some young kiddie just to get a win. Make him earn it. (I wouldn't be happy then either) 20-21 years was long enough to wait with stuff all to cheer about. Why give anything away for charity.

Screw any do-gooding hippies who want to see LH win cause it would be "nice". If you were a Cowboys fan, would you want the Raiders to beat you in the superbowl because they had some nice Chinese kid who was the first asian superstar quarterback? I bet you wouldn't.

I'm an Aussie and I don't even want Webber to beat the Ferrari's. And lets face it LH has been given a golden ticket ride to the top. I do think he's a good driver, but give me a break. People are talking like he's the new Shuey after 4 races. He should be doing well in that car. It's obviously pretty good. I've got much more respect for a racer who's done the hard yards in a Minardi style team like Alonso or Webber, Reubins in the Stewart or even Shuey in the Jordan and Ferrari. All these guys have showed how to make the best of second best equipment. If LH becomes a great champ in the future good luck to him, but I'll always think that championships are much more deserved by working hard and earning them from the bottom up, not by having them handed to you on a silver tray from day 1.

That, unfortunately, is the problem with some on this site. This is an attitude that I simply do not understand

As a racing fan, I respect drivers as competitors first and foremost. I feel that Alonso is the best driver currently on the grid, Hamilton is the future, and Kimi is a likely WDC in 2007. I do not automatically "hate" a driver simply because he is a competitor to the Ferrari team. Nor do I feel that driving for Ferrari, in and of itself, warrants elevating a driver to a status above his abilities. Some folks would respectfullydisagree with me on this, other less intelligent and less articulate dolts would simply direct an personal insult at me without providing any rebuttal of consequence. We all know who they are.

Two of the 3 greatest drivers in history, Senna and Clark, never drove for Ferrari. How any racing fan could not respect and support them as drivers simply because of the team they drove for is, to me, unfathomable.

 

Well let's see. Ferrari has won 3 out of the four races. Hamliton has won none yet. LH probably wouldn't have finished ahead of Alonso had FA not made his first corner mistake. So what did he say that didn't make any sence? If I were Alonso i'd be more concerned about Ferrari too.

 

A few months ago he said he had fear of nobody.
