Congrats to Massa, Kubica, Hamlton and Sato! I feel bad for Kimi, its not like he fell asleep and broke the car. I am so happy Massa held his line on turn 1 and did not slow down to let Fred through. This could serve Massa well in the future. I am still looking forward to watching Kimi "gel" with the team and with the can. As much as the MCs are good this year, Ferrari still looks like they are a little better. On planetf1, I read that Massa thanked MS for his advise/training, this shows that Massa does not have a big head yet :)

it was really really brave of Massa to hold his line. imagine if he didn't. it would have probably been a Mac 1-2. and a disaster for Ferrari...

FA is cracking under pressure from his teammate, while both Ferrari drivers are driving error free races. i'm expecting a 1-2 soon enough.

Bah. FA will get it together and it's Kimi who will fade.

I also am expect a Ferrari 1-2 finish soon. Hamilton is very impressive, and I find myself hoping he does well also. It must be because I know it will drive FA crazy to see a young upstart finishing infront of him in the same car :).

Why do you think Kimi will fade? Kimi's pace was good and he is saying he starting to get comfortable with the car.

It's just my opinion. Moreso than what anyone can say, the season will unfold and tell the story.

couldn't agree more Kimi is bound to bounce back and I like hamilton a lot. I like even more that he's showing up the arrogant alonso.

Congratulations Felipe and Ferrari. Also, very, very glad the fire didn't amount to anything.

As for the first corner thing, if you look at the replay, Alonso initiated the contact at the apex. He pushed Felipe almost into the grass despite Felipe still owning that apex. As far as I'm concerned, Felipe pushing him out into the sand was just payback for the initial contact. Alonso was the one driving recklessly, and the one who could've ended both drivers' day.

YOU HAVE TO GET COMPLETELY PASS THE OTHER DRIVER'S CAR BEFORE YOU CAN DIVE FOR THE APEX ALONSO.

Schumacher has won 7 out of 9 at least 3 time per my count. In 2004, he won 12 out of 13 consecutive GPs.

In 2006, Alonso won 6 out of 9, with the other 3 races being 2nd place.

While Massa has now won 4 out of his last 9, he also has a 5th, 6th, 9th, and DNF in that same time period. For certain, he has had some good races, including this most recent race, but his 9 race streak is not even remotely record-breaking.

I don't know about that, Alonso was faster than Hamilton all weekend long, he damaged his car during his contact with Massa the first corner and he admitted having some handling problems as a result.

I think Alonso's disappointment has more to do with losing his home race than anything else. He clearly wanted this win in front of his countrymen, I think his anxiousness got the best of him at the start. While I think he is dealing witht he fastest teammate he has ever had, I don't have any sense of him being psychologically affected by it. Frankly I would be more worried about Kimi's mindset than Fernando's at this point.

That being said, no one was touching the Ferraris this weekend. I think we got a good sense of how good the cars are this season, Ferrari definitely had the measure of McLaren this weekend and Massa drove a very good race, admittedly. McLaren has some work to do.

Perhaps he spent the weekend watching some Schumacher highlight films...

There was nothing wrong with the pass that he attempted, Massa did a good job defending the corner, that is all.

    Further to Massa's 9-race "streak"

While it is true that Massa has won 4 out of the last 9 races, which is more than Alonso's total in that same time, in the last 9 races, Alonso has scored 62 points, Massa has only 55.

I wouldn't get my knickers in a twist over Massa's "record" run quite yet... :D

Good job Massa ! He has really stepped up lately.

Alonso's ego in relagating LH to red headed stepchild status may help Ferrari in claiming the Constructors championship yet.

I hope no political games are being played in the Ferrari camp, however based on Kimis reactions and qualifying position I'm not so sure.

Honda needs to take both drivers to the woodshed. The Golden Rule; if your going to take another car out, take an opponents.

LH is incredible and has impressed me more than anyone this year. He'd look good in red.

while i agree with u, Jackie Stewart pointed out that FA has already started making some silly errors, errors that he didn't make over the past 2 seasons.

well, looking at it from the outside, and logically speaking, i have to say, he is under pressure not from Kimi or Massa, but with Lewis.

+1 agreed. we have to give FA credit for trying at least. Catalunya is hard to overtake, so i think he took that gamble in the 1st corner.

go Massa. I have always been a big supporter of him and am elated to see him doing so well. I really think the first turn showed a new side that will carry him well. I was afraid he would fold the first turn again and glad to see him hold his line. Love his humility and joy. I know there are a lot of KR supporters on board but seeing Massa do well makes me glad. Seeing Kimi do well makes me appreciate his skills but leaves me as cold as his personality. I am finding myself rooting for Hamilton more and more.

It wouldn't bother me had Alonso not made such a big deal about the pass attempt in interview room. MS was a very aggresive driver, but he always had class when answering the media's questions, and left everything at the race track.

A lot of people couldn't give credit to Massa for trying to make the pass on Hamilton so why give any to Fernando? I think they both deserve credit!

Im really happy with the way things are going with the season. I hope it stays this tight throughout the season. Hopefully Kimi will figure out whats wrong so we can have some Ferrari 1-2's.
