Ok, I am ready for the big one! Major service on the 360F1 and to make it more fun, clutch probably needs work too from what I am hearing at low pull away speed. 21K miles, and last major was done back at 8K. Who can we trust in the area to do this work, and I will ask the big question- What is the right price for Major service and Clutch replacement?

You live in Parkland. I know that Marenello is good, but Miami is a bit far to go when you do have service available in Broward. Let's be fair, there is nothing wrong with using the authorized Ferrari store in your zip code, Shelton Sports Cars.

If there is warranty, no question where you go. I am not sure you always save money, and if the repair is not done right, it does not matter how cheap.

I have a different view as to where to get repairs depending on the car. A Chevy or Toyota, find an independent. A Ferrari, Lambo, I would lean to a place with currently factory certified mechanics, not just ones that worked at a dealership 5 years ago.

I have taken my car to both Shelton and Maranello. Shelton does a good job but as we all know Ferrari dealerships are for the most part, pricey. I have found Maranello to be below Shelton's prices. In addition I believe their work is top notch, VERY reliable and the work is performed timely. I just have my car convientently towed to Wil and I still save money compared to the Ferrari dealership.

I believe any small business owner especially in the automotive business, values each customer with greater respect and service.

Compared to someone who works in a multi-million dollar dealership.

I would not underwrite that quote. A relationship with a big dealer can be just as personal.

First, let me say maranello's work on my 550 has been exemplary, on time and reasonably priced.
The best part is personal service. You are always dealing with Wil and Gian, not some faceless tech at Shelton.

My last conversation with Shelton was a call to tell me my 360 came in..I was on a list about 5 years ago, and they called me after the 430 had arrived!!! Thanks a lot!

Call Wil at maranello, you won't be sorry.

Not at all, and not sure why you would even interpret my comment as such. My point was if you own a Toyota, or Chevy, virtually any mechanic can work on your car. When it comes to a Ferrari, especially a newer Ferrari, I want someone with the latest information and training to work on my car.

There is no question that Marenello has an excellent reputation, so anyone living in Dade or southern Broward would be pleased to use that facility. And we went through the debate some time ago on this forum that there really is no Ferrari certified mechanic, only one trained on a specific model when previously working at a Ferrari store.

But I am suggesting that irrespective of available towing service, creating a relationship with a dealer or service center near your own backyard is important. I want to be able to stop by and see what is going on with my car, so if the car is 40+ miles away, it just is not convenient. And I do see an advantage to using factory authorized service because those mechanics are privy to updated service information. Personally, I will not ship my car to Dade County, or to Jupiter for that matter, when I know there are very good shops closer to my home. And that will apply to the newer Ferrari, F360 or F430, that I plan to get in the next 12 months. So far, I have not seen anyone comment on this thread suggesting a car be sent 50 miles away that does not live in Dade or southern Broward County. That is not fair to the gentleman that started this thread.

Understand this thread was started by someone who lives in extreme NW Broward County, that is less than 5 minutes from where I live in west Boca Raton in Palm Beach County. I am 50 miles from the Miami Airport. I could not in good conscience tell this person to send his car 50 miles away and pay for the flatbed. So I stick to my suggestion that he consider using Shelton for work on his 360. Just like I would suggest Tim Stanford for any pre computer Ferrari. They are less than 25 minutes from his home. There is also a shop in Boca that no one has mentioned that has the computer equipment for F355's and newer. Maybe someone will jump in with their name.

I hope this explains my position. I just want to be fair to msos.

I definetely can not agree with this statement.

I take my A6 to Champion Audi in Coral Springs, worlds largest Audi dealership. Actually did that today for the 45,000 mile service. They remember my name, they treat me very well, I do not have to ask for a loaner, and they wash my car every time, and the car is finished very quickly. All you have to do is ask to meet the mechanic working on your car.

When I owned a Corvette, I could request the same mechanic every time.

Do not interpret my statements as being negative about small independent shops, not at all. They are also quite good, sometimes better, especially if they are close to your home. I use Tim Standford for the Boxer, and I can not imagine anyone better anywhere in the country.

Or an F360, which I think is prettier. But only if the funds are not available for the black Enzo I want. I hope around January.

I worked at a Ferrari dealership they do not always treat the customer
right. They see you drive a Ferrari and all they think is money, and thats
one of the reasons why I decided to leave and go on my own.

This will be my last post on this thread, since my intention is not to fight over a fchat member who is just searching for help with his car. Besides, I do not see anything wrong of our customer's referring us even if we were in another state, which by the way, we have clients from other states fly in their Ferraris for us to repair, given their loyalty to us. I understand that you don't know who we are, our capabilities and/or background.

But, I do respect and appreciate your opinion, interest and loyalty to the local aunthorized dealers.
