Stickers were looking good. Rare to see a F-car with stickers on, most owners care too much about the paint!
Owners are not worried about the paint, they are more worried about the downtime associated with paint jobs. What am I saying here......I am not quite myself, reboot
I havent sat in a rex for over 13 years. Remember back then some friends who use it for track, Those were the days, camping out in the workshop seeing how things were done, always stripping my bumpers just to check if the clamps holding the silicon was tight enough, manually cleaning the intercooler fins, changing engine oil myself every other weekend etc. I remember all those white STI boxes the rex owners would bring into the workshops. One car in particular was STIed everything down to the tiniest parts like bushings and bolts....oh there i go again...reboot
It's fun working on this car, but I'm not that good at it - so I leave it mostly to the professionals. There are some really good Subie mechs/tuners here. In a bit of a dilemma, continue modding this car? Sell it to buy the Evo X? Or save up for that dream F-car one day?
Well depends what rocks your boat? The boxer engine is really bullet proof. But limited in ultimate output. I belief the max you can go is 420hp reliably and thats with increased displacement to 2.2L. Evo X is another ball game again. Different handling altogether. Ferrari? There are dozens of members here that would comment on the virtues of owning one, so gonna pass on commenting. I only owned the original R32 and RX-7. Let me dig up some never before seen shots
Hi Jon GT3 not so low la! speed humps are ok, just go slow like you should with any other car anyway. Performance is good..but don't think it can match a superleggera. Not sure it should even be compared as it's in a different league. Maybe the GT2 is a better match...
Ah here is two, which reminds me I need to get a scanner to scan all my old pics into digital. RX-7, I remember people werent too happy that i came with a Pirelli truck. Picture is too blur to see my face, so i shall not delete that part. The guy in the Pirelli truck is a prominent race driver in that country, he helped set up the car. 18" pirelli slicks are such a joy to be on I guess coming in second after Dennis Lian aint too bad? Though he was halp lap ahead....duh reboot. Anyway cheap thrill lah, people here race ferrari. When i have time will scan more "upscale cars" Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi guys, Was introduced to this forum by totoseow..nice place..=) My current ride is a Maserati 4200GT. Didnt do much stuff, just DMS and Tubi exhaust. DMS really helps squeeze more power especially from 3500rpm onwards; Tubi just sounds simply great. 2nd car is a BMW Z4, gonna be replaced soon by a 987 boxster S - the wait is torturous! Hope to catch you folks around sometime! Cheerios!
Actually, there are people running higher than 500 hp reliably (at the crank) with 2 liter engines. The road driveability suffers because of the huge turbos needed and the resulting lag. I chose to get a smaller turbo with lower hp and improved driveability. Evos are definitely more moddable, but that's with the 4g63 engine. The new aluminium block in the X is an unknown entity, so I'm a little worried. Evos have been known to be less than perfectly reliable, the incident with the blown magnesium turbos on the IXs left a bad taste in ppl's mouths. So, who knows how this new Evo will turn out? I suppose one could buy from C&C and feel secure with the warranty (OTOH, there are people who report problems with warranty claims even from them). PIs are cheaper, but the warranty issues are really worrisome. Also thinking about the new STI - but I don't exactly like the looks; also the ECU is rumored to be a "black box" - very mod-unfriendly when you want to reflash, etc. Don't know if an ECU swap will be compatible with the car.
Welcome to the chat! We had a short drive last night with 4 F cars and 3 G cars, but too many cops around and spoilt all the fun.
Huan ying! Huan ying! We need more Maserati owners on board. Please post some pics of your rides. You may like to visit here http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=87 for your Maserati buddies Yap waiting for a new car can be very painful & seems that most of us here can't wait. Just spoke to a friend last night & all three 997GT3RS are sold so the next allocation could be next year! His "kermit" is here & going to LTA these few days. I worry in 6 months time I would've given up & looking @ others.
Yes, it was quite a sight, we had a lot of colourful cars last night. But few hundred metres down the road & there's a roadblock then patrols on highway. Looks like the recent drink-accident cases has given the TP a wake-up call & while on my way to ES just now, there's at least 2 TPs on the AYE. We better keep to speed limits as well. Just remember to take a cab if you do drink even a glass. Not worth it to fry your license.
Yes Phil, spoke to Marcus yesterday as well & that particular car is "my colour", it's just that buyers are worried about future parts replacement issue from factory or Stuttgart. This is a special car & probably the most revered within Porsche now other than the GT2. Regular 911s, Cayman, Cayenne & Boxsters won't be an issue. Re-sale is another issue but as long as the buying price is reasonable, I'm sure it can be a sweet deal. I hope this pilgrimage trip to where it all began will help me find what I've been looking for
Hello Ray, heard you lapped a 360 on the roundabout last night You're one bloke who really enjoys driving.
