OK, can I mount the bar with a plate made to fit the same bolts that hold the seat track motors on? In other words, the bar would go from one end to the other where these motors are now.

Looks like 2 bolts hold each one on, with one bolt shown in the raised area. would be nice to use same hardware even, without having to drill into the car, etc. I'm thinking on non mouse motor cars, the shoulder belt would be mounted here instead of the center, so a strong spot?

Thinking a bar instead of the hooks now, because I could also mount a fire extinguisher and camera there for some extra purpose use, and maybe a we bit more rigidity, and once powder coated wouldn't look too bad either.

Only other issue is how to cut the trim piece to still go over this area with the bar coming through, especially if the bar doesn't come off the mounting plate, making it not as easy as just cutting a hole to slip it through.

    Here are some pics.

NO! This is not a good place. The motor location is not structural. You need to be on a b-piller if a shoulder harness mount is there. on 348 it is not so you need to go to the center back piece where the old belts are mounted or under the fascia left and right where the european shoudlers are mounted. IMO best to mount like a challenge car and forget using a harness bar.

European shoulders are mounted in the corners? Can't find where they would go. Where they higher up in the triangle window area?

OK, the bolts for the center belt is clearly stronger, but how would I mount a bar that runs across with only center mounting points? The two ends are closer to where the belts will be? Not getting that idea.

To mount like a challenge car, don't I have to get on the other side of the firewall, where all the pipes hoses run? I don't have time for a welding class right now and the engine comes out later ofter I'm done with the inside. A buddy with an off road shop was going to fab up any metal I needed. Please advise what's easiest for a newb like me that doesn't have many shops for stuff like this here and doesn't want to cut up the interior too much.

The quickest is to have your buddy tap and drill some plates for your eye hooks challegne style and just weld in the plates. You do not need access to the other side of the firewall. Can't take more than an hour if you take the center and wing tails off the interior. Any welding shop can do it too. All you need to do is remove the ECUS before welding that's an ectra 10 minutes. You can also have a new center made so you don't destroy the OEM one. I may even have my old one. I can't remember if it got sold off.
Heck if you are in so Cal I'll make and weld them for you and I even have Eye bolts! It just isn't that hard.

Any pics of the plates. I think I get the picture now, making this harder then everything else lol. On other projects, I just go at it, always trying to check here first what's right, but then this car is a bit different then most, lack of a clear B pillar just being one. I had a similar harness as the one you showed before on a vette also.

Do u weld a threaded cylinder to the plate? Do you have all the parts/metal FBB, I'll forgo my idea and go with this instead. If you could send the plates and hooks I can easily get them welded on while most of the interior is out. If you really don't mind, I can send you a FedEx account number. Heck, wish I was going to cali soon, could scheme up that turbo :p
