Did you write all of the wording for this auction? Some of the text feels familiar to another rental company which I have heard about. Good luck on finding a very high mileage 360

Thanks for the heads up Evan...

Adam: Can you at least change the text in your auction so it's not a DIRECT ripoff from my website?

The watch was just rented by Spencer Pratt (MTV Hills) for a new show starring him and Brody Jenner for MTV. Thats the typical renter (usually rap videos), a prom, and an award show, so far... As far as the website... Its being redesigned by thelogoloft.com so it should have a much more professional look very soon.

And my house? Sure if the money is right! lol

Direct from your site? No, it was recomended by stra.com (the exotic car rental organization). Not that I chose to be a member, but just counted at least 5 other companies (1 in DC, 4 in So. Cal) that all have very similar policies. They want to create a uniform guideline system. In any event with in the next couple of weeks our site is being redesigned and we are adding new cars and another location by September. The Upstate, NY location is seasonal (April-Sept.)

Noah, read the PM I just sent you.

Ok, I'd like to avoid getting into a big flame war here, but the following text:

"Due to the types of vehicles we rent and the nature of the insurance industry, all renters must carry their own liability, physical damage policies, and must verify with their insurers that coverage is provided for the vehicle being rented."

"We are very flexible about vehicle return times - But once we have made a return appointment, we need to stick to it. There will be a 1-hour grace period with your scheduled return time, after which you may be subject to additional daily rental fees."

"There is no refueling charge -- vehicles can be returned full, empty, or anywhere in between.
However, when you do gas up, all vehicles must be refueled with Premium grade (93+ octane) gasoline. There is a $350 fee for filling up with a lesser grade. And yes, we will know."

Is directly copied off my site. Especially the "and yes, we will know" part -- ok, fine, I wrote "and yes, we'll know" ... tiny difference.

Maybe the STRA copied it from me, maybe someone else copied it from me, but that is my writing, in my voice, from my website. I know because I wrote it in 2004 when I launched my website. It's my style.

And FYI, I know this may sound funny, but 90% of the exotic car rental companies around the country launched since 2004 have copied portions - if not entire sections - from my website, including graphics, text, images, everything. Heck there's a guy in NJ who's running around with a trailer covered in photographs of our fleet, blue wall and everything. I suppose I should take it as a compliment that I've done a good job, but geez...I wish people could be original....

Noah, I will trust that the "rental policies" wording used was initially created by you. That's what you are claiming anyways. I just spent some time looking at many of the other "exotic car rental" companies around the country and many have very similar policies so there is no way for me to know where it originated from. Besides I opened in 07 and you opened in 04 I think??? As mentioned in the PM I sent you, I'm where you were 3 years ago. Most of my market as of right now is Upstate, NY to Boston. Another location will be opened and more cars will be added by Sept, but right now only the 355, and SL are in NYC and Long Island maybe 1-2x a week but mostly weekends with customers. The rest of the time they seem to stay in here in the CD. I can understand frustration of alledging copying a portion of your site, but there was sincerly no intention by myself to do so if it was in fact originated by you. I read your sites policies and making note to my web designer for our new site being launced soon... In about a week check out the new site!

On another note, I do get customers that inquire about cars I currently do not have such as a Gallardo, 430, and a Murcie. I would love to set up a referal relationship to service these customers in the Capital Region of NY. Let me know...

Thanks for the explanation. None of this is about any concern about your business in a competitive sense, not sure where that came from. I always welcome new people to this crazy business ;) Alls I'm pointing out is that I seem to "inspire" a lot of similar text, particularly on the eBay auction.

    Best of luck Adam.

If you don't mind, what is a "driven" car like that 360 spider going for ? I really want to pick up a car that has some miles on it and that I can use as a daily driver and continue to put miles on.

    thanks
