    This was posted on the Corvette Forum yesterday by a poster named Slim Shady:

    "My neighbor just got a Ferrari F430 and 599. The race is on this weekend. Paid cash from Beverly Hills Ferrari. Dealer said it was the fast sale in history of company. He was in and out in 30 minutes with 2 cars.

    I have not seen the 599 yet. We are taking it out tonight to Run it. Will head to Ortega Hwy. I think I am going to ride along in the 599 and not drive the Vette unless our wives go with use.

    I think the Z06 will have its hands full with the 599. I wish Jim was able to get my AAIS Killer Bee out to me. I guess I will keep my car now that I can have fun with him now. I also will need to move up to a Supercharger soon. I will start today and get Corsa mufflers and LG Longtube headers. I may run a 100hp shot of NOS. This will be just in case the 599 starts to pull on the Freeway. I will get some Freeway pulls on video."

    Nothing quite like saving a brand new car from the brainless...

    He bought 600k in automobiles in CASH!!! I also doubted them having a 599 readily available in the showroom. Story sounds fishy.

    Didn't we just have a post about some yahoo driving his 550 into a motorcyclist? I'm thinking this is going to spell trouble................

    Street racing with cars like this is probably an unwise decision, especially just to compare "Vette versus Ferrari".

    Somewhere on Google Video or YouTube theres a video of the 355 with a Viper and the Viper took a plunge.

    Good luck, and glad I'm not in Cali around those hills when they try this.

    I dont think the owner of the 2 cars truly understands what it means to own a Ferrari. Drag-racing against a Corvette on the first night out isn't a brilliant idea .
