I am not so worried about paying for the car but after talking to the dealer there is 1 F50 for sail with 300 Kilos. They want to sell it for 160,000,000 yen. This equals 1,321,113.04 USD. Is this right Can this car be worth this much? i see them for about 600K and this is fully understandable. but 1.3 mil?

    PS.
How is semi daily drive ability?

Seems a little high IMO. But with only 300 km, its practically new.

    With 1.3$mil...get an Enzo!

well look at the miles though 300km is probably one of the lowest milage f50's there is, so if you want to drive the car a lot (a good thing) then you should look for a more mile, less expensive car

and thats the route I plan on doing. He told me the car was for show and it would be a waste of time to drive it around. I can kinda see that I guess

Also ... there may be an issue with the fact that it is for sale in Japan. Hong Kong has 100% duties on cars so a 430 in Hong Kong will run over USD$500,000.00. Not sure about Japan but the price could be reflective of imposed duties.

A bit off topic but the 100% duties, are those only when a car is imported to HK or whatever new car you purchase at a dealer there?

Ha! Good way of putting it.

But really 300 miles is about the same thing as 3,000. Both are not 0 (or 10 or 25 etc). Having "only" 300 miles is not of incredible significance when the vast majority only have a little more.

If most F50's had over 10,000 miles, 300 might be significant, but that isn't the case. 300 is about ~290 away from being a "non-used" car.

300 miles is significant. Dealers find a market price divide at 1,000 miles. Below that number the car commands a large premium. Above that number and the price drops rapidly. Nothing kills value quicker than more mileage for sound automobiles. A low mileage 200+ mile F40 and a 600+ mile GTO sold for around 1 million dollars. An Enzo with 109 miles was sold quickly for top dollar. 300 miles is the same as 3000 miles; only if you are looking for a victim to hang a car on...
Be prepared to write a fat cheque if the dashboard on the F50 is acting up.

Yes some of what I said was a tad bit of "a stretch," but it was mostly to make a point. :) 300 miles is "significant" of course, but only to a certain extent. And not to an eight hundred thousand dollar extent. But hey, someone with eight hundred large might think otherwise, what do I know.

I don't know about your whole claim of a reliability difference between a 3,000 mile car and a 300 mile car, though. . . either way, the car has aged in years quite a bit, which is probably more of a problem than an additional 2,700 miles.

And if your main reason for the significance of such low miles is reliability, then I think you've got the wrong idea. I don't have any first hand experience, but I think the general consensus is that a lightly driven car is much less likely to require lots of work than one with no miles, since these cars are designed to be driven. But really, what the hell does it matter if your dash doesn't work on your three hundred mile F50. Other than telling you the car only has 300 miles, the dash serves no purpose :D
