Look at what pappy got in the mail 5mins ago....... Fantastic key. This is the Enzo/360CS key. Has the Ferrari sheild logo on it. The 430/599/612 key have the rectangle Ferrari logo on them apparently. Either way, this key will look cool hanging out of my 348 ignition barrel. The 328/348/F40/Mondial keys are all the same and all crap. This one is very nice. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Back out from the communications black hole of Gunpowder too late to get your messages - flew out on Friday's lunchtime flight. Thanks for the T62 image - will take you up on your tour offer next time! And look forward to a beer and a spin in the 348 (not necessarily in that order)! PS: the Gunpowder Resort Motel - one of the top ten destination to avoid in NW Qld!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Awesome key mate!! I love it. You can buy them from the gift shop at www.ferraristore.com for US$200. I saw them a while ago, but they have since sold out. I should have bought one straight away. I was told that they have them for sale everynow and then. Just have to keep a lookout I suppose. I was lucky enough to score this from a fellow US Fchatter. He bought 2 keys. One key for his 308 and another key as a spare. He offered the key to me cheap, so I took him up on his offer.
Nah mate, I didnt even know it was on. Otherwise, I would have went to it. I may have found myself a nice Greek girl with a Tom Seleck style moustache to settle down with.
Finally got the 348 back on the road last week. I sent my wheels away to get refinished in Brisbane. The wheels came back looking like brand new. Awesome work performed at that workshop!!! Only cost me $250. I also fitted the new Ferrari centre caps in all the wheels. Rear wheels are now shod with Falken 255/40/17 tyres. Before and after pics posted. One of the main reasons I removed my wheels and sent them away to get cleaned up was because I had split one of my a/c hoses. You have to remove drivers side RHR wheel and inner wheel well to get to a/c hoses on top of the a/c compressor. It looked like a **** of a job to replace these hoses, but only took around 20min to remove both of them. Hoses run under drivers side exhaust manifold. I was lucky enough to get 2 new hoses made at work. Receiver drier also came from work. I fitted some protective heat wrap sleeve around both a/c hoses, courtesy of work. The old hoses were hard and brittle. I also replaced the a/c and alternator belts while the car was on stands. Before and after pics posted. Before I took the car off the chassis stands, I fitted my new 25mm rear wheel spacers. The stance now looks great!! ALOT fatter compared to stock standard 348. When I drive the car, I will try and give some feedback about how/if they really help with the 348 handling?? Before and after pics posted. While...........it was on chassis stands. I changed the engine oil and filter. I should have organsised it a bit better and ordered in Royal Purple. Instead.......I was bummed around and then went to Autobarn and bought 10 Lites of fully synthetic Mobil 1 engine oil. I also cleaned the oil and crap buildup on the hotwire. I cleaned them with Cary Cleaner. They come up like new and my brother drove my 348 and he reckons it runs smoother now and feels like it has more power. When we did dyno run with XOST exhaust at Xmas time, the graph showed us that my airflow sensors were dirty. I did not clean them, until the other day. Enjoys pics. Pap, wheel spacers are illegal in NSW and I would have thought QLD also. They increase the load on wheel bearings and suspension bushes. By pushing the wheel out you increase the leverage applied. Wider rims maintain the offset ratio of the stock wheels for this reason. If you have a big accident and the insurance assessor finds an illegal modification, even if it had nothing to do with the accident, you may lose your cover.
I thought they would probably be illegal here in QLD. I will see what happens mate. I at least want to see what the fuss is about them. The car looks alot better now IMO. Fills the gaurds nicely IMO. My tint is also very dark, so the insurance company may use that against me in the event of an accident. I will take it as it comes mate. I can always get the tint removed and I can always remove these wheel spacers if need be. I have a feeling that even if the car was stock standard, the insurance company Suncorp would try everything they could to not pay me out.
I was thinking the same thing when I crunched the GT4 but Shannons had no problems with the car (there weren't any as it was stock but you expect to be reamed by ins companies) the only problem I had was getting the cheque out of them, was the infamous "the cheque is in the mail " story still, all my other cars are insured with them on a good rate, sure I could do better but the difference is hardly worth the effort
A friend told me to call Shannons Insurance to get a quote for my 348. I called Just Cars Insurance around 1 year ago. They matched the yearly $1577, but their excess was $1500 and they could not match my Suncorp $500 excess. I may call Shannons for a sticky beak quote over the phone.
Nice photo story J. Gee that sump oil is black, how long has it been inside the donk, looks like a diesel engine?Whats your air-filter like? Check your owners manual, the oil to use is Made in Italy like you Ferrari, has 6/8 little legs, name of Agip Sint 2000. Waiting your test report with wheel spacers fitted Ciao M
That's only because Agip were an F1 sponsor at the time. Repsol Elite is better than Agip and probably Mobil 1 for older engines.
