5/27 Sunday Midnight Run

Nice long weekend, beautiful weather, empty city, and most importantly: NO WORK ON MONDAY!! WOOT! So I spoke to a few peeps and we're thinking of doing a Sunday midnight run. Anybody else interested? This will be in/around NYC.

The last midnight run resulted in some major, major tickets from a VERY unhappy trooper on the Garden State Parkway. Be careful!

 

GSP on Sunday night is a hot spot because of street racers' meets at West Nyack.

Excellent! Seems like a good little group! I think NYMC will be involved, so some of their members will come out. I'm thinking we go through the city and terrorize all the tourists.

Just to clarify: we'll be meeting in Manhattan and going through the city. No highway driving -- the city will be *empty*

Be careful guys, bc I would not have chosen this particular Sunday midnight. Cops will be out, because it is one of the biggest going-out Sunday nights of the year. I would suggest doing it at 7-8am on Monday instead.

For all of you who have no front plates, put them on as well, even if it is with double sticky...

 

I generally run a pair of Sony HVR-A1U's on vehicle mounts, with a couple chasecam 520 line lipstick cameras talking to flash recorders for "ants and twigs" shots, which I then upsample in post. If it's an "Enzo day" or the like, I also bring out a Canon XL-H1 on a Fig Rig or similar.

Happy to do a footage exchange if you're filming as well.

BTW, can we get a Donut Escort *cough*Barry*cough*? Jail doesn't agree with me.
