Does anyone know why Hotwheels has not released a 308?

It seems that over the past 20 years there would be a lot of people who would have owned or wanted to own the car and thus enough demand to justifty a run of models. Does Hotwheels have the rights to do a 308?

He could've been, but he wasn't very specific. He also didn't mention if it was to be the GTB, GTS, or GT4.

I have a few variations of the 1:64. Including the "final run" edition from 2004? IIRC.

Heh, I feel like a proud pappa, my 1:64 thread has like 700 replies. :) It took on a life of it's own.

Nice to see a "new" local person...

HW has made several 308 variations in 1:64 and they let Kyosho make the 308 in 1:18... I've got several 1:64 and a GTB in 1:18...

Sorry I wasn't specific. I meant 1:18. I would like a GTS, but same question applies to the GTB. Why no HotWheels? They seem to be making so many F-cars, but not this one.

Regarding the Kyosho, I first saw it mentioned about a year ago that a 1:18 GTS QV that was due in Dec 2006. Did it ever come out? I have not been able to find one (just listings saying "coming in December").

They are pretty rare, but I have it...red or yellow?

It wasn't Hot Wheels, though.....I'll look for it......

I believe Hotwheels received 308 royalties from Koysho since Hotwwheels has the only official licensing from Ferrari to produce diecast in their name. If you notice on the Koysho’s 1:18 Ferrari boxes, it has the Hotwheels logo. So from a financial stand point, its cheaper to have someone like Koysho, CMC, or BBR to produce them. Now if you also noticed that I didn’t mention the name of Exoto… well lets say that they might not be around in the future as they are producing Ferrari diecast without the permission from Ferrari… Stay Tune, Court case coming their way soon… and hey guys… hang on to your Exoto Ferraris, they might be rare and their value might go up soon.

For those of you who do not know and want to know -

Hot Wheels will be releasing a 308 GTB sometime around November under the Ferrari 60th Line to the Masses. It will be Yellow. Not sure about an Elite or Super Elite version.

Wizig needs to dig a little deeper. As you've all said, they exist. I have a few 1/64 and the Kyosho 1/18 GTB. Just because you haven't seen one, doesn't mean they aren't around!

Matchbox came out with a Magnum Ltd edition GTS in 1981. Runs a little larcher than standard Hot Wheels but a little more collectable. I guess I shouldn't let my 4 year old play with it but who really cares. He's having fun.
