you wouldn't believe how many crap films i've seen lately... *SIGH*

i don't know, maybe i'm dreaming of halcyon days but back in the early-mid 90's i used to go to the cinema 3-5 times a week, i was addicted to movies! now, i still watch new movies but i'm not sure why anymore, i can't remember the last movie i wasn't severely disappointed with.

seriously, anyone seen anything worth watching???? :(

Finally saw Borat. Very funny, apart from the nude scene which grossed me out majorly!

    just went and saw Zodiac.

been really looking forward to this movie for a long time, directed by David Fincher a'la Se7en/Fight Club (two of my favourites).

    well.... boooooooooooooring. :(

it *is* interesting, but more in a one-hour-special on an ABC documentary with a few dramatisation scenes kind of way, not nearly 3 hours in an uncomfortable old low-back cinema seat.

the acting is ok, but the movie is so completely deadpan with maybe 3 slightly tense moments and two semi-humourous one-liners. the story spans such a ridiculously long time-span jumping weeks then months then years then decades at a time to the point where you don't care about the characters.

only bother to watch it if the Zodiac killings were something you remember as a kid and you want more in-depth information but couldn't be bothered reading the book.

last week went and saw Ocean's 13... was pretty much as expected, entertaining enough, not quite as popcorn-festish as the previous two but a decent way to kill 2 hours.

tonight went and saw Transformers.... very nice.

definitely worth seeing, my one big criticism however is that there's way too much ultra-close-up and overly kinetic camerawerk, it's often very difficult to see what's actually going on and you hardly ever get a really good look at the robots or action because of this. the best shots are the longer shots where you can see the entire scene - awesome stuff - but these are few and far between.
