If Kimi doesn't have a multi-year contract, he may not be driving for SF next year.

Ah there's plenty of time for him to shape up, mate. Look at Massa last year, if Rubens had his seat then Ferrai would probably have won the constructors. Ferrari still kept him. Also, Kimi has a 3 year contract if i'm not mistaken.

I doubt they'd get rid of him after a year but since he's only gotten worse on race day so far who knows.

We need many more datapoints to extrapolate anything about Kimi's time at Ferrari, IMO.

But I'll say one thing... I'd let Kimi drive my car before Sato, and I'd let Massa drive it before either of them :)

James, i don't think it's fair to come up with that kinda statement. the WCC is a whole team thing, not an individual driver thing. Rubens, IMO doesn't look motivated like how he was before. so i don't think he could have a better job than Massa.

I'm not sure I agree with that. Rubens is currenly praising Hondas efforts for improving the car, and he's outperforming Button. Also, for an example, remember that race in Hugary that Jenson won? That race was in the wet, and Massa finished 7th, behind the likes of Ralf, DC and oh yeah, Rubens in the Honda. It's a well known fact that Rubens is superior in the wet, and in that situation, I think it's safe to say that he would have finished further up the grid. Another example is the first race of the season. Massa finished 9th in that race, only his first race at a new team, but Rubens wouldn't have had to adapt to a new team and would definately would have been well into the points. I can come up with a few more example as well. You say that the WCC is a whole team thing, well the only times where Michael screwed up is when he decided to valet his Ferrari at Monacco, and thus started at the back. He also crashed at Melbourne, but Massa on the other hand, had several instances where I honestly think Rubens would have performed better. I'm not slamming Felipe, but i'm just saying that Rubens had much more experience and a better familiarity with the car/team that would have made the difference.

Gotta agree with you, Ferrari had the choice of 2 Brazilians and they picked the wrong one for last year.

Just about lost faith in KR.
He needs a swift kick in the a$$, or better yet to spend 14 Hrs a day with the team.

Does anyone feel an Alain Prost moment approaching us?

If Jean Todt is not with the Scuderia next year to nurture/protect Kimi and Kimi does not improve, I'd give odds that he will be sacked.

Possible. With the slight difference that Alain already was championship when he got sacked.

But even if Ferrari would sack Kimi for 08, who could possibly take his seat? About the only thing I could think of is Alonso, because he would want to leave McLaren, where he gets not enough love (read protection in 08 from Lewis).

So at this point does SF make Felipe their #1, or do they still let them race?

No need to choose that this point, let them race, besides, the point totals tell the story. What would they tell Kimi anyway, go slower hold up the pack? Don't let Scott Speed or Sato get close to Massa? :)
