Tony, all that has to happen is for people to disagree with the subject using facts and stop personally attacking the person making the post. Do you see that happening?
If I have an argument to make, it will be based on facts, or my experiences, or if it's an opinion I will say why I think its so. You on the other hand pass off opinion - and highly speculative opinion at that - as facts. When pressed you'll pick another opinion piece of someone who sees things your way and pass that off as facts, or you will fall back on "inside info" that you have which qualifies your opinion, yet you can't say who this info comes from. When that info proves to be wrong, and people roll their eyes, you disappear until the next time you have 'proof' of being right and then you pop back up lecturing everyone with your vast knowledge of infallible correctness. You also attack ANYONE with blanket statements who does not see things your way. I attack you because I think you're an arrogant jerk, as I said. There are plenty of people on this forum I don't agree with that I don't think are arrogant jerks. Look on the bright side, you're unique!
+10000 Just as I said. And also, maybe Ya don't see it Ron, but it's impossible to not shoot the messenger when the messages coming from you are so deep rooted and personally biased...yet you're upset with the 'personal attacks'....do you not see that your comments--the messages-- that you're 'trying to pass on' are not detached from your attitude?
Using just this thread as an example. Please point out where I did anything you just accused me of doing without first being slammed for my opinion? Virtually every response I made I asked that personal attacks be stopped. Of your comments in this thread, there were no references to fact, only your opinion. I have never read a post and called anyone a jerk, I have never in this racing forum accused anyone of being on crack, I have never called anyone crazy, or any name for that matter, just because I do not agree with them. I have never called anyone specific names as you have. But when someone does that to me I will respond accordingly, of that you can be assured. Do not confuse the private forums with this open forum. For as long as I have read your comments on this forum and elsewhere on FChat you have been mostly rude, and absolutely self righteous. It is as if you are looking in a mirror and describing yourself in this post. I do not recall any facts from you, only your opinions. So please do not criticize me for getting information from people I know in the sport. I really do not want to get into a war of words with you, so I think it best that this stops. I will not comment on anything you say, please do not comment on any of my posts since you can not do so without being insulting. I do not agree with you, and again if you go back over this thread, many of the regulars know me well enough to know you are wrong. As I have said over and over in this thread, I do not believe that name calling belongs on this forum.
Any thoughts on Monaco this weekend? I still got Kimi, Lewis, and Alonso on the podium. Massa should be right behind there, with the BMWs in tow. This is of course with no crashes or DNFs.
Dave, I do pass on information in an attempt to share this information, I also offer my own opinion, usually based on this information. I do think through my answers and I give my reasons when asked. But the fact that I do not agree with someone else is no reason to call them a jerk, to suggest they use crack, to call them crazy. Look at every post I made in this thread, until someone gets personal and insulting, I continue explaining myself without slamming anyone. There is no reason to shoot the messenger, if the messenger never took a shot at you. How about this idea: if you don't agree with a post, you just ask the person making the post to explain their reasoning without getting personal? Do not suggest they are ridiculous, just offer your own opinion, again without getting personal. I see no problem with this approach, do you? Example, in this original thread, I suggested that Heidfeld could win this race, and that Coutard could finish on podium. I was met with comments like I am on crack, I am crazy. I answered that with my reasoning why I think the BMW could win, and why Coultard could podium. Was the reference to crack really necessary? I do not think so.
I am sticking with my original prediction. But then qualifying will truly determine the finish as passing is near impossible on this track. Whoever gets the pole, and stays off barriers, will likely win. Pit stops may not help if there are safety car periods.
Heidfeld then Massa, was that your original, I kinda got lost in this thread. Monaco is such a crazy race, you never know what'll happen, Coulthard podiuming last year is a great example. Anyone that correctly predicts the top 4 in qualy and race, gets a wireless high five from me.
After practice 2, you've gotta seriously consider Hamilton for the pole. Then again, now that he has crashed, I wonder if he will lose some of his edge: he was storming the track in early qualifying. Also, I disagree with those who say you cannot pass at Monaco. There is definitely at least 1 serious passing area (I believe it is right before the swimming pool where Schumi was cutting the corner last year) and we have seen GOOD drivers pass on this track. This should be a fun weekend.
I don't think this rocked him enough to loose his edge. But what does speak against him winning Monaco is the fact, that he likes to dance on the edge: Time and again have we seen him get off the track ever so slightly in the previous races. Not by much, sometimes by half a tire, sometimes by a full tire; it doesn't matter: Half a tire off at Monaco and your suspension is toast and game is over. Piquet compared racing F1 in Monaco to flying a helicopter in your living room. That's precisely what it is.
Good point Tifosi. It is hard to imagine him doing 72 laps with enough precision to not crash even if he does take pole.
What is all the fuss about? You leave a thread for 5 minutes and everyones unhappy with each other. What does it really matter what's said on the thread, it's all water off a duck's back and occasionally it is written as it would be spoken. The Massa Vs. Kimi debate (Vs. LH Vs. Alonso) is all good banter, if anyone thinks we all got along in the past it's because there was no way I'd would have been suggesting Irvine tops MS or Rubens tops MS at Monaco. It's been a while since two drivers at Ferrari had relatively the same opportunity. Anyway, Massa's half a second down on Kimi and may need to borrow one of Alonso's magic tricks........
Something to take note of, Hamilton hadn't run on the Softer of the compounds. Both the morning session and what was his second session was on the harder of the two. He'd just switched to the soft compound when he had the crash. Apparently he feels hadn't gotten enough heat in them when he had the crash. So, he's got some time in hand...
+2 But, I have a feeling that if it rains LH may just surprise us all in the way Senna used to in the rain..... [And, I'm saying that as someone who only a few weeks back said "let's not be too quick to annoint this kid the next <MS/AS/whoever>....." Cheers, Ian
If I hear the words.... Senna and Hamilton in the same sentence again, I'm going to puke. Put Kubica in that car and the results would be similar.
Not in a million years. Kubica is talented, but he makes mistakes. Hamilton so far only made one and that one didn't even count.
OK, I'm a diehard Ferrari fan, but ya gotta admit this is kinda funny Image Unavailable, Please Login
