Picking up an M5 in Munich in August then touring for a month. Planned to share the driving with my 17 year-old son. But now I hear that you may need to be 18 to drive in Germany. Anyone know if this is true? Even with a parent? What is the minimum age in Italy and France? Thanks.

If he's got a valid driving license he might get away with it. You at least have an excuse if you do get stopped by the police. He will not land in jail for driving at 17 but with a valid driving license.

Visit Wrocław and Kraków in Poland. Beautiful towns to visit and he can drive legally. Roads not too heavily policed either - at worst you'll pay a 150 EUR fine for speeding
