Come on. Alonso got a good start, LH was not gonna beat him to turn one regardless of what he might have tried. He wasn't even close to being alongside, do you, or anyone really think LH could contol just how far alongside he would get next to Alonso if he could? So he was told just get a good enough start to leave FA in the lead and keep Massa behind? Jeez the excuses just get more and more far fetched. Alonso beat him. Let's get on with it.
There is no way this is true. He was never, ever going to pass Alonso at the start, even MS, Senna and Fangio would have been extremely unlikely to achieve that in identical cars. He was sensibly told to cool it near the end of the race ... for his own good. Pete
Hamilton was sliding his car around the street course all weekend. Drifting = dings. While all the Massa bashers have been praying for rain, I wonder if McLaren has their own pet Mogwai. (Don't feed 'em after midnite, and keep 'em away from water.)
For Ferrari to have a chance at the WCC they must get rid of Kimi...almost anyone else would be an improvement...
Yeah but Mika and MS weren't on the same team. No team would let thier drivers pass at Monaco unless one made a really bad start or your teammate doesn't expect you to try a pass . Michael got a better start and beat Mika into the first corner. The easiest way to pass.
I dunno man, he's not looking too good. I might have to agree with you if he doesn't get his head outta his culo soon......
Had Hamilton taken the lead in Lap 1, then it would have been Alonso that RD told to hold station. I doubt that Ron really cared who finished first and who finsihsed second so long as it was a McLaren 1-2. All this talk sounds to me like the Alonso-haters scrounging for excuses to slam him. He won the race fair and square, Hamilton was slower plain and simple. The fastest guy won, get over it.
get rid of the guy who has been on the podium 3 out of the 5 races? the other two were because of broken cars. he only caused one of them. if this guy has a car, he is on the podium. period. who are you gonna replace him with? alonzo and hamilton would only be a sideways move in my opinion. after that, there is no one.
I have seen a number of Ferrari team members / drivers extend a kind of enthusiastic social demeanor toward Lewis (mostly on or around the podium ceremonies) that I just don't ever see them do with other drivers. Everytime I see it my gut instinct tells me they're interested in him. My bet is Ferrari is the next team to get LH after Mclaren. Whenever that happens? Who really knows....
The British papers like the Sun and Express (hesitate to call them newspapers) had already decided before the race that Lewis was destined to win it. So now they're looking for more of a story. Take a look at the motorsport section of Sniff Petrol http://www.sniffpetrol.com for a humorous take on how the UK press view him. ian
like i said before, this hamilton hype is really going overboard. My local daily here claimed on sunday morning, before the race. 'Hamilton destined for Monaco crown to be Monaco's new king' rubbish. he was totally outclassed last weekend by Fred.
Outclassed? How? Because he qualified 2/10s behind Alonso while being handicaped about 3/4 secs per lap ? By parking his car in second in front of Massa at the start rather than being allowed to at least race to the first corner? You will see what outclassed means in the remainder of the season. Lewis will give the whinner Alonso some driving lessons.
i disagree. we're talking about a 2 time champ here, not just someone from the streets. yes, Lewis is a good driver, credits to him and i'm happy for him, no doubt. i, just like the rest of the board, is still waiting for his 1st win. but making statements like he'll give Fernando a driving lesson? thats a big joke. remember, Fred beat MS to the title before. he has a massive upperhand experience wise compared to Lewis. Lewis is just fast and raw. he has to learn how to be more controlled like Fred was in Monaco. If Fred can drive every race like how he drove in Monaco, w/out any mistakes, he'll surely outclass Lewis. no doubt.
The reason Ron Dennis set team orders favoring Alonson? Alonso $20 million Hamilton $500,000 Who is more exciting to watch and based on last years performances in GP2 is more of a racer? Alonso had it too easy at Renault with a teammate who was nowhere near. Those who have watched Hamilton in lower formulae know what is going to happen... This kid is really the real deal and the most exciting racer to emerge in years. McLaren must surely know how dominant he will go on to be in future.
Kimi: $56 million Massa: $8 million Why hasn't Ferrari implemented team orders then, by your logic? Ralf: $25 million Trulli: $10 million How about Toyota? Too easy? He had to beat Schumacher in a Ferrari. I would hardly say that Alonso had it easy.
Some of these Alonso haters live on another planet. He beat MS for the title in MS's last year, get over it and join the rest of the world. LH was all over the place trying to stay with FA during the last laps at Monaco. Driving lesson for Alonso? I think he got one instead. The only chance he had to win was a miracle. Period. There are no team orders at McLaren especially this early in the season. Only Ferrari does that.
now if im reading this right the guy got mad because they didnt want him to shoot for first place and take the win to himself? if thats the case then this is what i have to say. first off i can understand were hes comming from because obvisually if someone has the chance to win they are going to take it no madder the circumstances. if its impossible or not. team Mcl are just trying to pull in wins. personally i think he has a right to be mad to a point but then again being on a team he needs to understand that he cant alawys win. my question is how often does this guy win?
