    I posted this in SO cal section. But here it is. I displayed at the LA autoshow this year and figured i'ld make one more effort to get these guys to finally pay me.


    "Just a consumer warning here. The guys over at Trinity Wheels stiffed me on the $ they owe me after sharing my booth space at the LA Auto Show last December. They promised me they would square up everyday of the show and i even offed to run a credit card to make it easier for them. They kept telling me the owner of the company will be bringing me a check that day. Well the owner of Trinity showed up the last day of the show, but didn't even come by the booth his company was displaying in. After not receiving a check during the show, they promised payment would be sent in the following week. After giving them 3 weeks of not receiving a check I called and got the standard "oh sorry, we'll drop the check in the mail today for you". After several more months expired I contacted them again. They now claimed they were short on $ after business didn't take off after SEMA as expected, and they would throw me a few hundred dollars from each of their next sales until the balance is paid down. This is the last I've heard from them and I have not seen a dime this now being 7 months later I decided to share my story. I am not one to bash a business online, but this is more of a consumer alert to anyone thinking of dealing with or helping out this company. This is also my last ditch effort to guilt them into finally paying me. I wouldn't be bothered if anyone dropped them a random email referencing this situation.

    Understood, Rob...I wouldn't be happy with these guys either...Thanks for the heads up on Trinity. Not a good way to conduct business.

    Sorry to hear about that Rob. How much money are we talking if you do not mind me asking? I would take them to court just on principal!

    Rob,

    Were you able to pay for the booth after the show? I think not.....

    Sorry about the loss. Frankly, you should post the name of the owner not the name of the business. Businesses come and go, it's the owner that should live with the rep.

    Rob, youre a nice guy, too nice (if you know what I mean). Scum businesses like Trinity took advantage of youre niceness. One way to get back at him is find furums where if advertises and bash him :)

    Just get bryan to cut them. I am dealing with a similar situation with a client in boston. It totally sucks. Do you want to go in with me and get a 2 for 1 deal with the mob?

    It seems like I'm hearing about this kind of stuff more and more lately. And I'm glad Rob is still conducting himself in a professional manner as I'm sure he is pissed by now and feels like letting the expletives fly. I couldn't imagine ever going into business and doing something such as Trinity did.

    You can put this on "automatic pilot" by turning it over to a collection agency.
    I would pick a really bad one as they tend to be more nasty and tenacious.

    Rob, sorry to hear this, but I would instead send a letter to every venue where they might want to display in the coming year/s and let them know about this story.

    I think that venues like the NYIAS, SEMA and others would not let them display until they paid you in full.

    Just an idea...

    Starters:
    Pay them a personal visit face-to-face if it's not too far away
    File a complaint with the BBB and follow through
    File a complaint with their local commerce society
    Have a lawyer send them a letter
    Depending on the amount, take them to small claims court

    you might also want to consider a collection agency.
    and of course bad debt can be written off your taxes and I believe collection fees to go after it.

    Paid him a visit, he gave me a 2k check which is no where near the amount he owes and it bounces, later he comes to NYC I meet him at laguardia and he gives me 2k in cash. Never hear from him again. His cell phone and office numbers still work.

    I will file complaints with BBB and the local commerce society.

    Lawyer is working on the letter as we speak. Hoping to take him to court.

    I want a collection agency that actually does more than just call him alot. Ive never used one so im not sure what to look for.

    Either.... both....

    You know people can hide behind a company name. If I tell you about a bad experience with xyz company but the owner just starts another company, how does that help? I try to do small business with people, not businesses......make sense?

    If the check bounced, have your lawyer look into Fraud.

    yup, he has copies of everything. I called his office twice and they said he was in a meeting. And then one time the guy was like hold on let me give him the phone and he hung up. Then I called back and I Jian was out of the office.
