Nice one. I sold 4892 for $1.5 mil US and now I hear of a Miura SV that is asking 1.25 mil US. Lamborghinis are getting a little bit of value respect these days Id say.... Clearly, if one wants ownership of the ultimate production lamborghini, it has to be an SV. Factory 'specials' are headed by the SVJ series.

    Joe,
i have heard first customer Miura was a silver one for mr. R.( italian 50 years old man from a very rich family )

can you confirm this? or is just an other italian urban legend? ;)

p.s. the legend goes on and says he didn't dare to buy a yellow or orange one because it was a little too "in your face"

    Not sure what you mean...

First silver Miura was one of the pre-production cars and it (0961) went to a certain Don Eduardo Miura.
First production car (1006) went to a wealthy Italian called Conte Cicogna. It was lime green.

With the much-publicised theft of 4874 we are reminded how important it is to have our classics adequately insured.

I use Hagerty and they have just no problem insuring the cars for true current value.

Anybody with an insurance issue let me know.

That is the much-repainted chassis number 4900. It is not one of the original works SVJs...Lime green, then red, then orange, etc.

I forgot to mention, its original engine is now in a Miura S in Europe. Interestingly, its very rare for Miuras to be anything other than absolutely matching numbers...

    Joe,

Isn't that the Hubert Hahne car that was modified by the factory in the winter of 75/76? Or, is it a copy?

For cars under $1.5M, I use Allstate Insurance. For my cars over $1.5M I use Grundy.

Allstate insures my 288 GTO for less than my 2005 Yukon. For reasons I can't rationally explain, the 288 GTO is the cheapest car for me to insure. Followed by my Daytona Coupes. My Audi, MBZ, Daytona Spyders, 4cam, etc. are all about the same. Then the Yukon. Go figure.

I heard that the factory ran out of stock of eyelashes and the cost of re-making a batch was not economic when they were losing so much on each car anyway (each "lash" is a different shape). So under the banner of "upgrade" the simpler SV treatment was adopted and they did not need to re-order

Ferrucio of course wanted the true look so had a set of eyelashes fitted.

Personally I like the original look

He had a really unique car - which looks like it needs some TLC these days.

I love old cars, and the the thought, care and energy that goes into their refurbishment.

This Miura 3288 was in need of much TLC when I secured it and time & effort has transformed its disposition.

At $315k sold, the new buyer says it was a 'fair-enough' deal, even though a higher P400 price Im hard-pressed to remember.

I am glad it found a new home. It was just a little to much TLC for me when I sold it to you....glad it came out ok. I relly did like the color and interior combo.

Do you ave a pic of its "after care", if I am not mistaken this pic is the one I had from the owner that sold it to me....last year...prior to its care giving.??
