OK OK, here it is. I thought I took a pic of the butt with it's lights but it's not in my file....actually, the condition is not firstclass as I saw some wear on the edges. It was probably used prior to storage & I think there's at least one exact model & colour that was restored in Japan?

I would say this car really looked out of this world when it was launched. Look @ the lines, the glass, the windows no wonder it's named as the "Countach". The name was actually derived from a native Italian slang which means "Wow", apparently when this car was shown to a mechanic or some workshop people back then, the first word that came out of the stunned man was "Countach" & so it was named. This is one of the only few or only one Lambo that's not named after anything to do with the bull.

BTW, the bull logo came about because Ferrucio Lamborghini was a Taurus & he liked the zodiac sign so much that he had it on many of his personal things. When he sold the company & retired to the South, he bought a vineyard & sold red wine, one of which he named "Blood of Miura", I can't remember the Italian name of that wine.

A little trivia, his son Tonino Lamborghini has nothing to do with the current Lamborghini Automobili so those fashion & acccessories line with the same bull logo does not actually means the car business.

That engine you see behind belongs to a Diablo 6.0 which is hanging on the wall.

Jon thanks for more great pictures;especially the 'Countach' model. It looks like the two scoops below the bumper were added during the restoration?

A bit more tirvia: Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann is 43 and was born in Berlin but grew up in Rome. He came to Lamborghini with the title of CEO in 2005. He indicated in an interview that they want to grow the business 10% worldwide annually. At the end of 2006 they had 100 dealers worldwide. They plan a derivative strategy. There will be a new version every year but not a third model. The Gallardo Superleggera is the current 'new version' and there will be something else after that one. He must be doing something right; last year they had a pretax profit of 18.1 million euro.

It's less than 2" off the ground :) but it's a race car for tracks only so that's how it should be I guess.

Thanks for the Trivia CH. Looks like there'll be more version coming out again. Not sure if that's a good thing for us owners though, we don't want the market to be flooded with too many cars.

We made a left turn from the factory & drove for about 15mins to reach Modena & saw this factory, don't know what they do but looks like a contractor for Ferrari but the guy @ the reception there doesn't even know how to get to Maranello! So I had to ask for directions from gas stations.

This is most interesting, found out that Alcoa is a giant in metal manufacture & they actually produced the F360 aluminium spaceframe for Ferrari!

Very Cool pictures. Alcoa is on of the leading aluminum manufacturers in the world. They do have a contract to product the space frame for the 599 GTB and the F430.

Jon any more pictures of the rows of Lamborghini models show in the last picture of post #43. Was that as close as you could walk towards the cars there? Great pictures you have provided...thanks!

I think it's post #42, that picture is actually not allowed as it's within the factory compounds & it's the only one I have. Those are finished cars ready for road test & delivery but I didn't get to walk near them. Actually there's been photos & videos of the assembly plant in magazines & web so I don't think it's a big deal but we do have to give some due respect.

I'm still trying to improve my photography so please feel free to comment.

I have a whole lot more from the Ferrari museum coming up.

I can't remember how much is the entrance fee. Maybe 12 Euros each?

Anyway it's got a huge carpark for the public which I only found out after walking few hundred metres from the factory which seems like a mile to me under the blazing sun then. If you drive to Maranello, do take some time to drive around.

The museum has a gift shop, not the best compared to some nearby shops & a cafe. Even the sugar for your cappuccino is packed with the Cavallino!

I would love to spend hours in the splendid museum with all the write up & mini theatre showing hollywood movies with Ferraris but having a pregnant companion who's not interested in Ferrari isn't the most ideal situation :(

I have about two dozen pics from here.
