Being in the business I can imagine getting burned out. It must be great making a living out of your hobby, but once it's work, its a different story... I have 2 restaurants, eating in another restaurant is business, Privately I hardly eat out, It's more fun spending the litle time I have cooking at home for the family. Can you show us the really special ones? There must be a few you are keeping because of rarity or special stories... I never sell the dented milano43 166mm end of race... first handbuilt I ordered in Italy. The same goes for my P4 I recently got.. Love the stories or history that comes with something special.
Today, I reserved a 1/12 P3 kit by Patrice de Conto at www.minidelta.be. I got the link from another F-chatter (thanks Cor), and was amazed by the skills of this artist! This man creates amazing ferraris, his skills are phenomenal. The rivets holding the body, are actually delivered in the kit (all 850). I am not in the position to obtain a built version, so I ordered the kit. Do not know if I am going to build it myself, Allthough I am an experienced builder. First i'm going to see what I am starting with, then take my time to study the instructions, and have a good think......... But I will have one!!! Had to sell a few other models in the collection. (the pochers have found a happy new home) A few pictures...(of the model, this is not the real car) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Got the latest Brianza in. The 275 NART-spider and 275GTB4 together. The 275 gtb4 in mettalic blue is new, the spider in metallic red was allready in the collection(enrica). Both in 1/14. A company called BNT built both cars for different companies in the 1980's. I expected that they would have a lot in common. Wrong, both models have numerous different parts. Overall apaerance looks the same, as is the size. Even Seats(size) and steeringwheels (wood versus white metal) are different. Engines are not the same (of course), finish is equal 1980's style, Brianza came with the original "shoebox". I Was very happy that the latest arrival crossed the atlantic in one piece. We went to Belgium last fryday. Visited ecurie Franchorchamps, and Patrick badot. Patrick represents Patrice de Conto. The models mr. Badot showed us were the best weve ever seen. Patrice de Conto is an artist. His models are among the best worldwide. Mr. Badot told us about the research they do before making the models, and showed us a wheel of the 1/6 Lancia/Ferrari D50 that is produced after 4 years of research. These models are incredible accurate. The collection of mr. Swaters consists of 4500 ferrari's. Among them, michele Conti's, Brianza's,Michel de Conto, Heco and BBR in all scales from 1/43 to 1/5. We had a fantastic day. I got the P3 kit and WOWWWW,its much better than expected. Instructions are superb and most of the parts can be attached without glue. I have been collecting 1/43 for over 20 years, but in time.........I need to have a built Patrice de Conto! Even if takes selling all my BBR's. I am hooked! The pictures are an impression, the detail is so amazing, you need to see it real to get an impression what its really like. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
At ecurie Franchorchamps there is a 1/5 patrice de Conto 412P. If i could only have 1 model......This would be it! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Wolfman, youre TR is the same as the Patrice de Conto I pictured earlier. Patrick Badot of Minidelta attended on a very special feature on this car. Why is the opening of the airintake on the bonnet on the wrong side? This way it has no function at all!!! It's a curious thing that makes me want this modell by P de C. even more! When we talked about it, I made the suggestion that the "bulge"was made as an improvement after testing the car in practice. It was decided that the car needed more air for cooling or the carburetors. The bonnet was unscrewed, and handed over to a "skilled" metalworker. He made the perfect solution.......on the wrong end of the bonnet!! When they placed it back on the car.......It worked just good enough, or there wasn't any time left, so they left it this way......a unique feature.. (any more suggestions or facts??????? from anybody). The Borani's wirewheels? Nowadays everybody keeps them chrome. Back then, they were painted in all kinds of colors. Not for aesthetic reasons, but to be sure you kept youre expensive wheels after rewiring or changing tyres. In those days budgets were small, and wheels were expensive. One more. In the 1960's cars were made to race. budgets were very small. Ecurie Franchorchamps-cars had tobe yellow. Nowadays restorerers are researching old paintcolors like the yellow, back then, they went for the cheapest paint there was, as long as it was yellow. (story by mrs. Swaters, daughter of Jacques Swaters founder of the ecurie from Belgium. Wolfman, have you seen the models on minidelta? The P3 should be a fine project, the quality of the kit is far better than any modelplus I know.
Moriaan1, You must be referring to the #14 TR 250. The air intake is on the rear next to the windshield. Ill guess you had made a good prescription why the opening is on the other end. Youre absolutely right, the Borani wire wheels should have a silver tone not a shiny chrome. Since most of the factory builds come as aluminum wire wheels, it looks much nicer in shiny aluminum then the dull silver paint they were using. At a scale of 1/43, it will not be that much noticed, however if you built a 1/12 scale TR, I would defiantly paint the wheels silver instead of leaving them chrome or aluminum. I looked at the models on minidelta. I really like the one built by Patrice de Conto. I wonder what such a model will cost?? Who is making the P3 kit you are referring to? Any kit is better than the modelplus or Mathilde! These kit are pure nightmares, I defiantly wont touch another one. I have a German friend who is specialized in building large scale models. He does it for a living, should you be interested in getting a kit build, let me know. Wolfman
All the minideltamodels (except the 1/43) are made by Patrice de Conto. The P3 kit (only available at the moment will set you back 590 euro and postage. The built 1/8 (no kits available) are the "bargainprice" of 7000 euro's (I can't afford one for now) The 1/6 Lancia is allready sold out, and I didn't even dare to ask the price. The kit is casted in a very high quality carbon enforced kind of resin. I'm building one right now, and it works out perfectly, i'll post pics later this week. The wirewheels weren't even in aluminumcolor....they were green or bleu. Even darker colors than the minidelta TR. But even Patrice de Conto didn't paint them as bleu or green as should be, he found it to be ugly, so he made them a lighter shade of color. If you want more info, email them, Patrick Badot is very helpfull and a nice person.
Is this the MakeUp superior kit? I understand it is very hard to come by these days. Try Mike at miniwerks.com or David Brossi at karmodels.com edit: I see Mike has one in stock, built by Stephen Barnett. Will set you back $3,500 but its worth it. I think.

Heard a while ago, they will remake it........... Now and then one surfaces on ebay. But as said, it aint cheap, and most owners are very reluctant to build it, because its complexity.
