Some may be familiar with the Bot fly. Some not. Here's a real nice video.

Nasty stuff, and I hope they find some way to cure the problem for those folks. However, I doubt the claim that this is the next epidemic.

So which came first.... the obsessive picking and scratching at the skin or the creepy crawlies? Bugs just like a warm place to live and appreciate an opening....

I thought they already had some things like that in Africa. Makes me think of that videoclip someone posted a long time ago of the Australian pulling the slug out of the sore in his leg while filming a documentary in Africa.

I don't understand your problem - I think you are taking my statement and twisting it into something it is not. Should you be accusing me of having something against (or a prejudicial ignorance against) Africans, I invite you to see my law practice website, www.aok-law.com.

Are you denying that they have such worm and fly problems in Africa?

    WORM INFECTIONS (Fig. 56)
Serious worm infections are uncommon in western countries but in other parts of the world, such as Africa, the Middle
and Far East, infection is common and much ill health results. http://www.link.med.ed.ac.uk/RIDU/section10.PDF

You should think before you post. Ryan did not say anything out of line.

Furthermore, it's likely there was some blood borne transfer between humans and monkeys, likely originating out of Africa, that involved a retrovirus such as SV40 which is very similar to HIV, that ultimately evolved to become the virus that is pandemic in the world today.

So yes, an African male having sexual relations with a monkey may have been the cause. Unlikely, but possible.
