Up near the top of the second photo there is what looks like a 250 California spyder (no. 65?) Maybe 2015GT? Nathan
Could number 65 actually be number 85. 250 California #1603GT of G Reed Thus making number 17 the 250 GT swb of Bob Grossman (#1773 GT) Nassau 1960?

Here are a couple of a lovely BB512LM that was raced in SCCA in So. Cal. by John Duffy. Cheers, Kurt O. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
i watched the movie le mans again last night. it really struck me how high off the ground the race cars still sat back then. i suppose it was because there were still some places on road courses where you would get airborn and have a rather rough landing. that movie must be in the guiness book of records for least lines by a major star. i didn't miss the talking much though with all the authentic lemans character doing the talking for it. tom w

The pair of BB512LM cars I saw race recently during the Shell Historic Challenge at VIR really impressed me. Here's a couple of photos of one of them. Ye gods, they were very big and very fast! Gary Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
To keep the BB512LM theme going, here is another car I shot at a FOC/POC track day at Riverside, March 1981. Driver, owner, s/n, unknown. Cheers, Kurt O. Image Unavailable, Please Login
were there any 348 that were made at the factory as competizione versions or is it just an aftermarket modification?
Ferrari commissioned Michelotto to make what was called a 348 Competizione. The cars were built in Padova under Michelotto's direction and sold to clients after that. I know two ended up in the U.S. with Shelton Sports Cars in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. One was run at the 1994 24 Hours of Daytona(and finished) the other was sold to a collector. Due to Paul Pappalardo's efforts as team manager I was part of the pit crew and had I great time! A fellow named Arthur Coia had a photographer there to record the effort since his son drove the car. I never did see any of the photos? David
When it rains it pours. I came across some slides from the 1984 6hr IMSA race at Riverside. Two Ferraris were entered, a 365BB (s/n 18139) driven by John Schwarz, David Christian and Ed Swart and a 308 GTB driven by Allen Glick and Billy Scyphers. Both were DNFs. Cheers, Kurt O. Around 50 cars where built as Competizione Stradale , 11 as Competizione Corsa and two where Comp.LM . Interesting to see the picture of the Daytona 348 Comp. because of its beautiful livery. regards ivo
