No thread on this? Strange! I've been playing it for a few days now, loving it. I hate that there aren't interiors on the cars, no insider view. Other than that, the game is rocking.

    Complaints:

    No in-cabin view

Prize cars are only worth $100 unless you PAY to put them in an auction, and nobody wants to pay money for cars you can get for free. This makes my garage cluttered.

No 599? No FXX? I can't help being disappointed.

Will there be downloadable content? A car package, perhaps?

Try wondering over to the off topic section the thread is labeled "Forza 2 demo"

I'm crossing my fingers for more downloadable tracks later on as well as new Ferrari's.

They added downloadables for PGR3 after the launch... I believe there are at least 3 different car packs you can download - on of which has the F430 Challenge. I know PGR4 appears to feature the 599 in much the same way that PGR3 featured the F430. If there are downloadable cars, they're probably some months away.

Am I the only that's disappointed at the inaccuracy of FM2's Nurburgring?
Gran Turismo 4 got it REALLY close. Why couldn't FM2?

Here is a custom paint job I did for New York Moto Club (www.newyorkmotorclub.com). It's a car club that is based around the block from me.

This is my first try at custom paint jobs.

Overall I am very happy with Forza 2 - they stood to achieve alot for this true next gen racer and I think they set the bar high for racing sims on consoles.

I haven't done much messing around with paint and decals, I'm just trying to get my hands on all the Ferraris. I've found it is quite nice to upgrade the hell out of a car I don't want to drive and hire a driver to drive the races I don't want to race to help progress. I've been hiring a driver to repeatedly beat endurance races while I study/work/whatever, so my bank is getting nice and millionaire-like.

My favorite car so far is the P4 with some upgrades. I have it black with some different wheels, I forget which, in gold. It's one sinister beast.

I haven't gotten to play the Nurburgring yet, working on it! I love the physics, and the graphics are great. Have to love damage.

I love that you can change the width and diameter of your wheels. That's always lame when you can only put other styles of 15" rims on everything.

Have to agree that the one disappointment is the lack of in car view dash etc that was on PGR3 and Test Drive unlimited. That adds so much atmosphere.

You'd be surprised at what other things were dropped.

Anyways, yes, there will be DLC of course. Not all is known what will be, but the 2 cars that are confirmed is the new Sentra SE-R (thanks to all the advertising it did in-game), and the new Peugeot LeMans Racer which right now, is currently available to the French owners of the LE version.

We should be seeing it soon.

But back to the game, it's fantastic. The only big let down is the 'Ring, but everything else is great. This game has easily given me the ability to now re-create quite a few of the racing cars I've seen on here (which I would gladly gift to the owners should they ever play). If you have live, feel free to add Partyboy78.

Now, I have to wait for the replacement console as mine died 1 day before the release, making me play at a friend's place until then.

I haven't played the ring yet, and I haven't hired any drivers I guess it's more fun to get frustrated and keep trying races over and over.

Nice work on the CS Yellowbird looks great.

My son has done a great job designing Ferrari Fia GT racers including the SARA 430 below and the RSV 430. He also did an RSV Enzo for fun for another guy that saw his work. I will get picks up of the others soon. He is planning on doing realistic copies of all the 430's racing in FIA and the P4's, but is quite the purist and only does them the way they really raced.-Bob
PM me if interested in adding him to online play list. He's a pretty good driver and likes to use the steering wheel for more realism.

I re-created the logo using the ingame paint editor. This one was fairly easy to take on but basicly what I did was I broke it down into basic shapes that were avaliable in the paint editor and then layered according. I would also use the cut and paste feature alot of make sure everything was the same size etc. I also drew guidelines to ensure everything was centered.

The logo itself took me about 2-3 hours to complete. The rest of the car was fairly easy.

    my gamertag is: superhighfive

feel free to send a friend request.

Is that black rear challenge grill available on the game or is that some creative logo?

Gamer tag is Cool Warren, for those interested in some online racing.

This Forza2 community is giving me trouble.

I go to log in, and I set up a Forza2 account. Then I need an Xbox Live thing, so I go to register there, and it asks for my gamertag. I enter my xboxlive gamertag; Cool Warren, and it tells me it's already taken. So I create a new one; WarrenMRogers. Now this sets me up ok, I register my xbox to it, then check the Forza2 community and it doesn't have any of my info correct. Anyone with a quick pointer or two? I'm trying to get some pics of my cars on here...

    Oh really?

A game that has no in car view and no FFB is just that, a game. Not a sim.

If you have been reading my other posts on this you will know that it is my son and not I that is the game nut, but I have played a bit and would like to add my pinion.
Although I think the game is well done I really don't think it is any great leap forward towards a real driving experience. We use the X-Box 360 wheel with force feedback and while adding a big leap over the gamepad, it is still not even similar to driving my 308. There is still no sense of a connection to the road. I understand no seat of the pants and G-Force type sensations, but while it reacts to bumps and curbs it still doesn't give the same sensation.
I really agree about the in car view. If you go to the FIA GT 430 team RSV website there are free video downloads of the racing. You will see how exciting it is inside the cockpit with each violent deceleration and slamming downshift at each corner and then the earthshaking acceleration to the next braking point. I really wanted to see the look of slamming the sequential shifter up and down during acceleration and braking. The bumper view without the inside of the car, while dramatic, just doesn't get it for me.
One last point. As the guy that actually paid for my son's game I am really pissed at the makers for the blatant ommision of the 599. The car was certainly out long enough for them to include it. This is the car I really would have liked to drive and then modify into a racer. My theory is that it is typical greed and was calculated to be released later as a for-pay download to rack-up even more profits.
    Bob

BTW the x-box wheel does have FFB if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong.

you just need to sign in with you Window Live mail (the same that you use in Xbox Live) and pasword. That's all

Yes you right you can't call this a "SIM" but I think is a good (B+) racing game.

It does have force feedback, none of the GT games on the playstation have an inside view so are they not sims either?

So, you can have all the real world accuracies in physics, and even a hood view, but it's not a sim until it has an in-car?

The XBox has about as much FFB as my 308 has A/C. Technically it has it, but boy is it ever faint.

Sony owns the rights to FFB, Microsoft doesn't so they had to make up for it with something, that resembles it, but isn't really strong enough to give you a real feel for the forces. Unlike the Logitech wheel on GT4.

GT4 has a viewpoint from the seating position with imposed gauges on the windscreen. Not really an inside view either, but at least something. Is GT4 a sim? Can't wholeheartedly say yes. It also lacks a realistic damage model; at least it offers a decent model for tire degradation. It is somewhere in between game and sim.

GTR for the PC and F1 2006 for PS2 are sims.

And no, I'm not here to bash XBox360 (I have one myself). I'm here to bash ANY game or console that does not support FFB. Like for instance F1 2007 on PS3. :( Don't even get me started.
