just read this on CNN; "He said privacy rules prohibited him from giving details about the medical issues, but celebrity Web site TMZ.com earlier quoted sources saying Hilton was refusing to eat much of the jail food served her. Whitmore said that after "extensive consultation with medical personnel" it was decided to offer Hilton "reassignment" to home confinement, which she and her attorneys accepted." soooo, all you have to do is not like the food??
here in missouri you can get something like one +year of jail and loss of license for longer. however, i have this strong feeling that if it were me, or pretty much anyone of us in that situation, we'd still be sitting in jail staring a sentence much longer than 45 days.
No one cared how I felt when I went to jail. My arm could've been dangling from the socket by one layer of skin and I would've died from screaming and bloodloss before anyone checked up on me.
Yea, but you ain't Paris, honey. Plus, you don't have a kajillion dollars in get-out-of-jail money to back you either. I would have baked you a cake though
Regarding the 3 days is 5 thing, well, I suspect that this is the explanation. In my jurisdiction, one day of incarceration gives you credit for 2 days. So, while I don't know about CA, and I didn't count the hours she was in, 2.5 days in gives you credit for having served 5 days in total. I really don't understand the logic of the legal system when it comes to things like this. If they want you to serve 3 days, don't say 6 and let you out in 3 because you get double credit. Just strange. I have never looked into the basis for this logic, but I'm sure it would be ... stupefying. Regarding Ms. Hilton, while I don't cheer for anyone's pain and suffering (well, maybe for a few truly despicable folks I know), she should suffer the same consequences as all violators. This should mean no better AND no worse. CA has just cheapened it's legal system in my view, as an attorney. CW
Forget the kidnap/murder in Kansas and the captivity under the stairs in Connecticut. There's REAL NEWS!!! Paris Hilton doesn't like jail food.
Agreed. In comparison, any story about PH is not news. However, I don't understand why the media doesn't get that. I guess PH still sells. Testiment to America's love affair with vapid, bimbos. Question is, who will replace PH? CW
...and I won`t...When I "Did" my time, I "Did" my time. No crying, no whining, I made a stupid mistake , And I paid for it . Moved forward and I`m a better person for it . Jerry
If you saw the food in jail, you would be too! Also, I was told that if you don't eat for 3 days they put you on suicide watch and send you to the psych ward.. I've never heard of it being a get out of jail free card.
She doesn't like jail food? Who does? Given TV "News" broadcasts in Jails will show this infotainment, it stands to reason there will be hunger strikes, foodfights and riots in cafeterias across this great land of ours. No Justice, No Peas!
So let me get this straight.... First she gets 45 days reduced to half...And now she gets out because of stupid **** after 3 days? This is some wacked up crap. So she's the heir of a hotel franchise, and sucked ****** a couple years ago. What else makes this self-centered "woman" so special? BTW, anyone read the Sheriff's quote? "I can't specifically talk about the medical situation other than to say that yes, it played a part in this," Whitmore insisted at the early morning press conference." No, really? I thought she got out because she did the Warden a "favor". And so much for this statement. "In a statement released May 9, Paris Hilton admitted she's not "above the law" and expects to be treated like anyone else who violated probation." But getting out after 3 days works, too I guess.
The message is: in the US and A is if you have power and influence you get treated differently. Nothing new here.
