I poped a cd in the 430, just to listen for a few minutes. car was not started. now it wont start!! everything is working so i dont think its the battery. any suggestions?? I tried pumping the brake like i read in another thread, but no joy!! Hate to have it flatbeded for a simple fix..any suggestions really appreciated.
Don't "pump" the brake-step on it hard and try to start.Difficult to believe the cd had anything to do with it. If that doesn't work try rocking the car back and forth.May be a problem with the F1 going into Neutral. (I assume its a F1.)
just got off the phone with my serv rep. he told me to go get a jumper box and that should do it?? i am on my way!!!!!!
Glad to say, just started it with the jump starter.... I guess i learned my lesson, Not to power the cars electronics with-out the car being started!! A bit sensitive, I must say!!
Hi Sunny, your car's alternator runs only when the engine is on and recharges your car's battery. do you normally listen to the cd without starting the car? If you don't do it often and drive your car normally, you may want to get your alternator and battery checked since it could mean your alternator is unable to charge your battery or the battery is unable to hold the charge.
Actually this is the first time I have listened to the radio without the car being started. I think for her next service @ 5000mi I will have the factory battery swapped out for another brand.
Since it's the first time listening to the radio, I'd get that alternator checked by the dealer first, may be covered under warranty. problem may persist even with another brand of battery if my suspicion is correct.
