Tip of the week(love bug removal)

    How to remove love bugs?:
    1) Keep a pack of drier sheets, a bottle of tap water and a micro fiber towel with you.
    2) Pour the water over the area and rub gently with wet drier sheets(be as gentle as possible)
    3) After removing all the bug guts, clean and dry the area with the water and micro fiber towel!

The drier sheets have just enough soap in them, they are porous and not to abrasive. The whole set up takes up little space so it is easy to store in your car. Make sure your car has been waxed before the bugs stick so that the removal will be much easier !

    Sincerely
    Black horse.

I drive in reverse at the same speed as the love bugs.

(j/k - good tip, though the dryer sheets would probably scratch the paint?)

lol thats great!, NO love bugs are a big problem in florida, they are sworming around the southern area this time of year, and if not removed quick the acid in their bodies eat through the paint! keep in mind bullfighter brought up a good point if the Drier sheets are not wet, they can scratch the paint! So make sure you wet them and be gentle!

hard to show in 800x600 but they are all the little black bugs plastered all over the front on my 911. see the "splats" ...

good coat of Meguires World Class wax seems to help.

Wow, thanks for the link. Glad they have not gotten into North Carolina but kind of sounds like they may make here someday.

I prefer to use a 30'06 on the bugs BEFORE they hit the car.

I had this problem recently. The only way to ge the bug stains out was by wet sanding the hood. No joke. Tried polish, wax, light compound and light scratch remover. Nothing worked.
    3000 grit wet sanding did.

The Love Bugs only come twice a year. Typicaly bad for two weeks, but around for about a month.

Not a problem to take off if the car if done at the end of the day.

I use water and nonwoven glass cloth. Works great & still better than shoveling snow :)
