nothing seems to be going right for this team : Toyota have launched a full investigation into the suspension failures that Jarno Trulli suffered in practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. The Japanese car manufacturer are eager to find an answer as to why the front right suspension of Trulli's car broke twice on the kerbs at Turn Eight of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Work is ongoing at the track and at the team's Cologne factory, with Trulli admitting that he does not know what they will do if they cannot find an answer overnight. "If you are a driver then things can happen once, but when it happens again you will start thinking twice before you get in a car at a circuit where there are not huge run off areas and high speed corners," Trulli told autosport.com. Amid speculation that Toyota could be forced to pull out of the race if no answer is found as to the cause of the problem, Trulli said he was unsure what the team would do under such circumstances. "I have no idea at the moment," he said. "The team are on the case and we will see. It's not a good day at all. "I am a racing driver so if I have to go out tomorrow then I will go out, but you will always have a question mark." Toyota's technical chief Pascal Vasselon said he hoped the team would find an answer within the next few hours. "We are confident that we will find a solution," he said. "But we first want to analyse what has happened. We have quite a few people in Cologne looking at it, and without their feedback it is difficult to talk a lot about it." When asked whether there was a danger of the team needing to pull out of the race, Vasselon said: "It's a little bit early to talk about that. It is only Friday afternoon. I think this might be a bogus news story thingy. I can't imagine any team doesn't have back up of back up of any given part. If they don't they do need to fold their tent. If they all of a sudden have a solution I might just be right

Speed crew said there was a rumor going on that Toyota and Williams will merge in the next 2 years. If you ask me, this "merge" can't happen soon enough. Williams has the knowhow, Toyota has the money.
Haha funny! With Toyota behind them they are probably the richest team, so a "give up" should not happen unless they don't win a pole position in some more years. They are relative fresh aren't they? "Practice makes a champ" said the Toyota/Panasonic advertisment on TV a couple of years ago but they need A LOT of practice!
Toyota out of F1? I wish it was true. I can't wait to see the back of that team. With all their big budget, they have been pathetic over the years. Let's make room for a proper F1 team!!
The problem isn't the number of parts they have, the problem is that they don't know why the part in question broke. If it was one time, then, well, might have been a bad part. But if the replacement breaks, too, it's a design problem. So the problem isn't solved by just replacing the part a third time as it's very likely to break again under a certain stress situation.
