Nice work!
3 mins. left Alonso Hammy Kimi Heid Massa Everyone heading into the pits for the BIG tire change with 2 minutes left
Final Pole is: Hamilton 1 15 .7 Alonso Heidfeld Kimi Massa Weber Rosberg WAY TO GO LEWIS......Lets see if Alonso holds off.......lol
CONGRATS to Hamilton on his first pole this season! Kudos to Nick the Quick on getting to third. Ferrari has a lot of work ahead to catch McLaren. Right now, BMW may have them in the crosshairs. Maybe the long wheelbase was a gamble that's not going to pay off this season.
is it the long wheelbase or simply just the aero settings? the Ferraris is bloody quick on the straights, but look how untidy they are at the final chicane.
I was under the impression they weren't so good on the straights here... Also - did smth happen in the pits when Massa came in? There seemed to be a problem, no?
Ferrari's top speed is i think 322 km/h, while Renault is the fastest at 324 km/h. btws, what happenend to Massa? did i miss anything? or was he just checkin his eyeliner
So, the Ferraris are almost a second down on Hamilton. And Massa's a tenth slower than Kimi. How many here saw that coming? Congrats to "quick" Nick for third. We all knew Hamilton would do this sometime this year but, Nick's position is a real surprise.
Nick was really impressive. it'll be very very stupid of Beemer not to offer him a contract extension.
I hope this is a question of fuel strategy, but the fact is that Ferrari haven't gone under the 16's yet, where as McLaren has made a habit of it. Again, McLaren looks unbeatable. I can only hope that the McLaren drivers will steal away points from eachother, but I don't like the way this season is developing after the first 4 races.
With Hamilton & Alonso worried about running out at the end, obviously McLaren is running light, but Ferrari is almost 1 sec adrift of McLaren's fastest times. They don't have the car to get the job done this weekend. Actually, Heidfeld's best is .2 secs better than Ferrari's best of the weekend. If ever a dnf was needed from McLaren...
Nope, the Macs have just put a car together that no one else can compete with at this point in time. Could be a long season.
I think they were trying to deceive others. McLaren, as with the other teams, are selective on which radio transmissions to broadcast. They use the military spec radio to talk other times. They were probably trying to throw other teams off about a low fuel strategy.
Montreal really has one place to pass. Being up front is good, so this may be a fuel strategy race. Hopefully, Ferrari is gambling on starting with more fuel than McLaren. There was mention about some teams considering one fuel stop. First 20 laps should determine who is on what strategy.
Ferrari is probably not on a one stopper. Pretty much all speculation about fuel strategy is just that--speculation. I don't remember any of them being right for each race.
