1PM on FOX. Race day predictions? I do not think Alonso will just give up the lead at turn one. Alonso will try to pass Hamilton at some point which will make for and interesting race. Ferrari will podium as will BMW. As much as I want to see Ferrari win, I think this will be Hamilton's day.
Whatever the results are(hopefully a Ferrari 1-2) I just hope that its not another race like the Monaco borefest
It is showing at 1PM where I live in south Florida. Your station may have decided that some other programming is more lucrative for the mid day time slot. Call them and complain.
It'd be nice if they knocked each other out fighting for the lead, but doubt it'll happen. LH FA Then hopefully one of our red cars. I'd like to see the red cars do better, but then I'd like to see the race too, but no luck aboard the ship,,,, slow internet connection and no Fox available on our TV..... Life sucks! John
Yup, that's what they say about "Check your local listings"! Here in Detroit they'll be showing the Tigers game at 1, putting F1 and ChampCar on at the same time. bah!
The first problem for Ferrari is going to be NH. They need to get past him to even challenge FA and LH. Hopefully the F-cars have more fuel and they can stay close to the front runners until the first pit stops and then open a big enough gap to keep the lead after they pit
quite early to start the thread, Ron. anyways, it'll be an interesting 1st corner. i think Fred won't hesitate to go for it. strategy wise, i think the Macs are pretty light, for BMW to qualify just behind them. so, i think Ferrari is running pretty heavy here. i'm just keepin my fingers crossed, i'm hoping for a Ferrari win, but at the same time, i don't mind even Speed winning, as long as it's not a boring 'race' like Monaco.
Hi Remy_Zero, doing well. Hope you are also well. I also hope you are correct about nick, but in the past he has not been light. If he is, he may ruin the race for Ferrari like Ron Dennis claimed he ruined it for his team when running light.
I'd say 3-5 for Ferrari - yup, pessimistic... but then also quite realistic after this weekend Race should be interesting, especially if the cars stay together. Track seems to induce many foul ups..
Brian, I was surprised it had not already been started. I figured there was some anxious tifosi in Europe and your part of the world that needed an outlet so as to not bite their fingernails.
i'm also wondering how "live" the 1:00 pm eastern time race will actually be? if you recall last year when CBS had the race, the canadian grand prix started 0:15 minuites after the hour. they delayed it just enough to edit out a few laps and get the program over in exactly two hours to accomidate their PGA golf broadcast. joe
Good point. You may want to download an internet tv viewer and watch an European station. I setup three tivos to record the race on three different fox stations. Hopefully I will get lucky and one of the stations will cover the entire pre-race, race and post race interviews.
I think LH is going to win this one. He is very fast, he wants the triple play (pole, fast lap, win) and he wants it BAD. Alonso has more to lose but I think Alonso will know Lewis is gonna be charging into T1 like a bull, so he will lay back a little not wanting to get tangled up. Imagine the crap Alonso would get if he took out Hammy after Hammy was respectful at the last race If Alonso gets by Lewis in the pits, then everyone is going to cry foul - and McLaren is already under scrutiny (FIA investiation of team orders), so I think Lewis has a pretty clear shot to the win this time around, barring any mechanical failure. He also has his FIRST chance to show his true speed without anyone in front of him. As for the rest, I think Heidfeld will fall back a position and split the Ferraris, I say Kimi 3rd, Massa 5th, with Nick in P4. We shall see!
Hoping Kimi kicks Massa's butt irrespective of their overall positions. Looks like it might be LH's weekend. But for Mark Webber he would have had pole at Monaco. This time he was lucky to get pole as FA was faster everywhere except the corner of champions where he had a slip
We now have the answer to this question: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152346 The moment you take F1 out of its niche channel and put it on a big network, the local affiliates start tinkering with it. Regarding today's race: 1 Hamilton 2 Alonso 3 Kimi
I'd love to see LH win if it's not one of the Ferrari's...but I have some feeling one of the McLaren's will lose it today under pressure from the other. I don't know that Ferrari has enough grunt to get around Heidfeld either, unless Nick is running pretty light. I doubt we'll see the post-qualifying procession we saw at Monaco. Don't underestimate the developing rivalry between LH & FA. I noticed Lewis' comment in the press conference about Fernando "not doing anything stupid"...sounded more like a plea than sentiment.
