Well, I hate to admit this but having topped up the oil, I went for a run without putting the filler cap back on. Question now is where to get a replacement? Is there a generic alternative??

    77, 2 valve 308

Here's a nice picture of the hole if it helps.....

    thanks in advance

I'm not gonna be a heap of help, but I do know there is a cheap Fiat alt. I got one off an apprentice I had a few years ago. He and his dad were into Fiat's and had a heap of them. I think I paid him about $10. Sorry I can't tell you what car or where he got them from.

Richard: The first two “stickys” in the 308/328/Mondial forum have info on parts. Read through them and see if you find what you need.

As I recall the 1500 cc X1/9 motor was very much the same a one bank of the 308. I had an X1/9 and recall that the cap looked much the same as well. Worth a shot - if you can find one of them.

Fiat, Lancia, 308, and 328 all use the same.

I believe he had the Restroom key chained to it,,, Then some guy took off with it by accident.

I believe there is one minor difference with the Ferrari cap....it is nickel plated.
