I don't know if someone asked this already...but what happened to the speed the Ferraris were supposed to have; they didnt qualify well for the last two races...I agree Kimi isnt doing as well as he was supposed to do; but maybe the cars just aren't superior like they used to be. I would be interested in your comments.

What a wild race for sure. Glad Lewis finally grabbed a win, he deserves it. That kid is the next superstar of F1.

Kimi is doing exactly as I expected, and Massa is a little worse than I thought, though he's doin alright I guess.

Bad year for Ferrari so far. :(

I'm getting the sinking feeling PSK was spot on by commenting that the current two drivers can't develop a car.

I couldn't tell about either of them before, but now that the season progresses and the car isn't keeping pace with the McLarens, I think we see the answer: The McLaren gets faster because of Alonso's input (remember he developed the Renault into a two time champion car) and is now doing the same thing to the McLaren, which sucked until he arrived.
Vice versa the Ferrari is slowing down. So Kimi obviously doesn't know how to develop a car, he couldn't at McLaren and he can't at Ferrari. And the same seems to be true to Massa. All those glory years were down to MS.

Which is why I said before today's race: Ciao Mondiale.

I'm guessing that he damaged something on his first off, and all his other problems stemmed from that. It's really implausible he'd make so many mistakes otherwise. When Alonso had Sato looking up his exhaust he was braking very early, which would fit with him needing to scrub more speed due to a lack of grip.

You could clearly see that Haug didn't want to discuss that topic, he made some evasive answers towards Alonsos driving, stated that their problems only began with the Stop&Go for Alonso, that he had always been against that specific rule, he ignored the fact that Alonso cut that special corner several times before his stop&go. So the conclusion of his statement would basically be "It's all the fault of the race directors issuing that stop&go, otherwise Alonso would have been on the podium". He fled before the interviewers could ask him again ;)

Neither do I, especially when Fisichella came immediately after him and did the same mistake. I think a lot of people would get very, very angry if it came out that the light didn't work or anything like that...

Just so utterly disappointing for Ferrari. The only joy I had (besides finding out that Kubica was okay) was when Sato passed Alonso. I guess I will be optimistic for Indy but man, the team needs to show all of us something!

Could it be that the current team is just incompetent? Or maybe with all of team being Italian, there is just too much groupthink, and not enough diversity in terms of ideas?

Considering Hamilton has the best start of a F1 career in the history of GP racing, he already is a star.

Ohw come on. F1 racing is a highly competitive business. That Ferrari isn't on top after almost a decade of sheer sucess, isn't down to anyones lack of ability, it is down to the simple fact that McLaren have done a good job of catching up with Ferrari after the Spanish GP. Why most we now al of a sudden call Ferrari incompetent, just because another team is having success as well?

uhm....'we' got three wins in six races so far. As for the moment, McLaren has the upper hand, but things can change quickly in Formula 1. Just take a look at last season.

I would say the team. A driver has to be informed about any circumstance that occurs during the race. They always remind a driver to 'watch the white line' when exiting the pitlane. Even when the driver in question as exited that pit numerous times before. For the team to stay quite on the red light is a big mistake that could've and should've been avoided.

Why the light was red in the first place, is still beyond me.

I wonder how Hamilton compares to the likes of Lauda, Jimmy Clark, or Fangio?

You cannot compare them. We can most accurately compare him to his teammate, who is a two time world champion who has beat Michael and Kimi(when he was good) at times. He is amazing, no doubt. Definately a multiple world champion in the future.

just wondering why, if the pit lane the deemed "open" by race control, there was a red light at the end of the pits, one would think green in and green out? or were they holding them so the the field of cars could pass?

It was tire problems, or so he said in Spanish TV, where he did cause the problems he did not say. But basically he could not brake, the car was all over the place.

    - Julio.

Hamilton, like Schumacher (M.) and Alonso in his best races, makes it look easy. To me, that is the tell tale sign of a truly great driver.

I can not find ANYONE in the history of GP racing, dating back to the 1890s, that has had this good of a start to his acreer.

which is remarkable, since he put the fastest lap in well in the race (after his penalty if I am not mistaken)

What a crazy race. More like WWE than F1 with all the plot changes. :D

Hamilton got a well deserved win. He was faultless today. Heidfeld and Sato did a fantastic job to finish where they were. I think Wurz and Kovaleinen were lucky with the safety car situation.

Sato's overtake on Alonso and pulling away from Raikkonen was the best part of the race for me. :D I think his soft tires were lasting better than the super softs of the other two.

Alonso was pathetic today - a very unchampionlike performance. Of course Montreal and Indy are his bogie tracks. And his violent swerving on to the track after missing the turn one was deplorable. He did it four times today as well doing the same in Barcelona after his off there. He must think the effing track belongs to him and everyone else should yield. I wonder if all the MS bashers on fchat like parkerfe was paying attention to their golden boy driving recklessly today.

Kimi was pathetic (he was lousy even before he got Kubica's car bits stuck on his wing). Bring MS back. Massa and Fisi did OK at best.

C'mon Hamilton - Keep doing what you are doing and the crown's yours in a few month's time. Amazing job!

The problem I am having is that this circuit always suited the ferraris,
and obviuosly we are not even close to the mercs, I think it is down to our drivers inability to develop the car. It also could be that the longer wheel base car is a dud.
I say bring back Brawn and Schumi, and let the $56 million Fin go home to watch hockey, or whatever he wanted to go home for a couple of races ago

    Frustrating
